I think Ash turns them around
I'm not sure if he turns them around, but I could definitely see him spinning them right round. (Like a record)
I think Ash turns them around
not surprised,su interviewed him years ago. read jerry izenbuegs article from the star ledger dated 7/15/2012Never heard of him, and neither has anyone else besides the real Rutgers diehards...
They're bumping old Ash threads over there but they missed perhaps the funniest one...(change the o in rivals to an i)

I think Chris Ash is going to be a combo of Bill Parcells/Vince Lombardi

Eight months ago, I stated I NEVER would have hired Chris Ash. Thankfully, I'm a lot smarter now, than I was six months ago, and my cupeth is filleth with the Chris Ash Kool Aid. But to be fair, there were legitimate reasons to be concerned, namely: "Why change the template that had worked so successfully for us over 15 years". We were a pro style shop and the transition to the spread seemed daunting, at the time. But now that we are here, eight months later, one cannot help but be impressed with the results:
- Players are in FANTASTIC physical shape
- Hale Center looks GREAT
- The programs INTENSITY has picked up several notches
- The recruiting class looks AMAZING
My take on Chris Ash is that he is tough, fair, intense, and he's got a presence about him, an aura, if you will. These are the characteristics which Ash has in common with Parcells and Lombardi, both of whom were college coaches in the NY area. Hobbs hired a football coach that was an image of himself, and in doing so, he hit a Grand Slam. Obviously his national championship ring gives him much credibility, and with that, he is the most accomplished coach we've ever hired. Not sure whether he is detailed yet, as i still have to check whether he's changed his Ohio license plates. But we can see evidence of that in his insistence on proper nutrition and hydration and obtaining the appropriate resources to accomplish this.If we can keep Chris Ash over the long haul, there's no doubt in my mind, that one day commuters will be traveling to the Chris Ash Park and Ride to Work.1 rutgersal, Jul 28, 2016

I wouldn't be totally shocked if this part happens, but I wouldn't bet my next paycheck on it.They all really think Schiano is coming back and that he's their lord and savior that will lead them to the promised land. Which, for them, is what? 5-7?
Good Forbes article from their site laying out how dire their finances are.
For College Coaches On Hot Seat, Economics Of Buyouts Can Provide Needed Relief
You never heard of Frank Burns?Never heard of him, and neither has anyone else besides the real Rutgers diehards...
It's like we have a front row seat to an alternate universe we never had to live. If you want to know what it would have been like to keep Greg Robinson just grab your popcorn and stay tuned......If they keep Ash for two more years, they are toast. No coach will be able to turn that around. They’ll be bad for a decade.

They refer to Shady's tenure as "The Glory Days". :rolling:
lol - oh Money - have you learned nothing from rutgers over the last 40 odd years - of course they can fall lower than thatThey are naming position coaches as potential HC candidates and they are actually getting excited about the possibility. You can't fall lower than that.
My bad. Is this better? "Rutgers is a total sh** show and they are trying to clean the stage with one single bar of soap"lol - oh Money - have you learned nothing from rutgers over the last 40 odd years - of course they can fall lower than that
if the rutgers administration hears you say that - you will immediately hear "hold my beer..."
I know every school has their share of jerk fans (especially message board fans) but I couldn’t believe the amount of arrogance coming from Rutgers fans when they had those couple decent years when SU was horrible. It seemed to be more the rule than the exception. I actually felt kind of bad for Rutgers in the early 2000’s but never again. It's pretty much over. I will go from having had season tickets at one point to looking to join the Rutgers 1000 if it is still in existence. You can't enter the Indy 500 with a home made go-cart. Going to the B1G was stupid. At first I thought like everyone else "this is the best/luckiest thing to happen to this school" but I should have known they'd find a way to screw it up. I don't care about the size of the university, I don't care about the university's academic mission, etc. Bottom line is this...the B1G is an athletic conference and this was about money. If this was about academics they would have added Stevens Institute and Johns Hopkins, not Rutgers and Maryland.
There's no shame in playing in the Colonial Athletic Conference with Villanova, James Madison, Richmond, etc. They are good schools as is Rutgers. Big time athletics is not for RU. Time to end the experiment. And not for the "waste of taxpayer dollars" as that is a farce. Rather to save the alumni embarrassment. Maybe you will reap more donations if the scores floating along the ticker on Saturday afternoons aren't embarrassments although I think this year JMU and Towson would throttle the Knights on the gridiron. You can rejoin the "new" Big East for hoops and have your rivalry game with Seton Hall twice a year instead of once. The only sports program that would really suffer is wrestling as RU is building a national power there which is bolstered by B1G membership and the other Olympic sports would lose financing. And before anyone mocks my comment about wrestling it is absolutely true and the women's soccer team is pretty damn good too. That's about all they have.

Well, I was there in NJ the year before the 70 point win. We were crushing them 50-3 and in the red zone again with 5 minutes left in the game. We ran a couple plays into the line, and then took a couple knees. Shea and his coaches went nuts. This won’t be a popular post, but the reason for a lot of the obnoxious behavior was because in the 90’s Syracuse seemed to take more pleasure in beating up on Rutgers than most other opponents. True, Miami, VT and PSU all beat up on them too, but the memory of McNabb going for 70 on RU left a bad taste in people’s mouths.
So when RU improved and Syracuse had their struggles the RU fans got a little mouthy. So what? As much as you guys hate him, Schiano actually showed a little mercy in 2006 by pretty much handing off the entire second half vs the Orange which was definitely not what Cuse did with McNabb in ‘98 once the outcome was no longer in doubt.

So the next year, we hung 70 on them. Be careful what you wish for...
