The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

GFYS down the left side is a quality touch

*Edit on further review they couldn't even get that right as it reads Go F@ck Yougself. Maybe the G was meant to be silent

Does the G count like that since it wasn't a new line and just the final word from the previous line?

"You're scared that you have awaken "The Sleeping Giant." LOL

Fence the Garden?

Not really sure how it works. i just read capital letters down the side and the G was there. Probably not worth getting too deep into as it wasn't particularly clever.

What's with the other random capitalized words? After reading the first two lines I thought maybe Rutgers students are taught to capitalize words after commas.

This is just pathetic, really. So, Michigan is stealing their daughters too? Really, how so? Nice job with the "You will being to fade into the folklore of what was College Football". At least try and edit your missive before throwing down the gauntlet. Fence the Garden. Yeah, ok. Doesn't fence also have another meaning besides outlining a perimeter? Can't it also mean stealing from someone and then using those stolen goods to make a profit? If that's the case, it seems that Michigan has already been doing that. There is so much to have fun with in this letter. It's things like this that will ensure that this thread will never die!

Here is an idea, don't go 4-8 every year, and maybe you will actually land a recruit.

Michigan made strong inroads in NJ last year no doubt... Whether they can continue this remains to be seen, it sometimes rotates from one program cleaning up, only to fall back the next......Penn state has had good and bad years.

RU ran their camp at the same time as Michigan... The end result could not have worked out any better for RU... Aside from Paramus Catholic, almost all the NJ talent went to the RU camp... The Michigan camp had more out of staters..

A telling point was that Pitt coach Narduzzi came to the Michigan camp as advertised, and left after one hour, seeing what a bomb that camp was...
And spent the rest of the day at the RU camp.

RU did this as a defensive measure... Michigan has been bragging about taking what they want, which they certainly did a year ago... This move by RU at least temporarily put a damper on their momentum, fans would hope.

Spin it how you like. Truth is that Michigan is seen in a different light than Rutgers and they will pluck who that want from the state.

I'd worry more about Babers. Once this offense gets rolling, we'll be setting up shop like we used to.

Michigan doesn't recruit, they select who they want. I grew up as a kid playing football in Nj wanting to go to Michigan or Syracuse, not Rutgers.

It seems that Eddie Lewis missed the memo

And how many of the kids suffered because their coaches forced them to the RU Camp. There were 50+ colleges at Paramus Catholic, so if you're a low D1 prospect that was your best chance to get noticed. Rutgers could have hosted their camp another day and allowed kids to get exposure at both places. But again, it's a weiner measuring contest that doesn't benefit the kids.

In that contest Rutgers is Brett Favre to everyone else's Greg Oden.

Babers sounds like a very good coach...

. As to RU, beating Michigan again would be
A step in the right direction as to catching the eye of NJ recruits... Our best chance to do so would be early during Harboughs career, before he gets Michigan fully rolling.

Actually, with both camps at the same time, more players get to be seen overall...both camps were at full attendance, reportedly 1,600 could have been there total... If they ran on different days, both can fill up quickly, some players apply and go to both camps, blocking out some others who apply a bit late.

Too late.

and then there is this gem.

I love how they think they are so far ahead of us. Delusional.

Both teams coming off of mediocre coaching (though in the good guy v bad guy rankings, Shafer destroys Flood), both in new conferences, etc. We've been bad, but they've been worse:

Football Outsiders ranking

We have work to do in recruiting, but contrary to their forum posts - no one here is freaking out.

Harbaugh is going to make it a point to embarrass Ash on the field this fall, and I mean EMBARRASS.

I'm looking forward to the schadenfreude.

He did it last year. They got their mouths running at halftime down 35-16. And then Michigan drove down and scored on their first possession of the third quarter, and then Harbaugh went for two. It's going to be worse this year.

Rutgers halftime trash talk fired up Michigan in 49-16 loss

Rutgers halftime trash talk fired up Michigan in 49-16 loss

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Rutgers players evidently were feeling good heading into the locker room after a field goal on the last play of the first half cut Michigan's lead to 35-16 in Saturday's game. And apparently the Scarlet Knights couldn't keep their enthusiasm to themselves.

"When they're celebrating over a field goal still down by 19 points, it's kind of offensive," Michigan defensive tackle Chris Wormley said. "You could just tell they were happy, which kind of blows my mind.""
