Everyone wants European-style relegation but no one wants European-style commercialization of teams. How does everyone think European countries are able to field so many teams at so many levels?

Part of it is recruitment, and part of it is connection to the community - growing the connection to your patrons, your customers. It's not just from advertising on jerseys. English teams were community based for 150 years before advertising started being placed on jerseys and stadiums.

Sure, very good point, but playing any sport is not cheap. I am all for whatever brings in money to SU, including ad blitzing the unis.
