the crane the crane

Crew on the walkway and on the TBL waiting for it to descend -looks like it going to the base of the skinny spiral in place on the last girder from the south west

Crew ready to grab extended straps to help position the spiral and they have it - now we watch as they get the spiral column in place.

While the spiral gets positioned the red carrier lifted by Walt is taking two crew up to the girder

They are on the top of the girder to the left of center from the LC while the carrier they were in descends to the yard

Lots of activity - the spiral getting positioned crew on top of the girder the red dumpster outside the overhead is being filled with white bags of trash again today, a crew of three on the platform of the TBL directly in front of the LC is ascending to the girder platform/scaffold below the girder and have now stepped onto it another red carrier in front of the LC ascending to the center girder...

Th red girder hovered above the girder directly across form the LC and is now, I think, resting on the scaffold/platform below it. Two crew who were just taken up are in control of that carrier, ie., loading it with stuff to come down or taking some supplies out - it is hidden from view.

The TBL in front of the LC with one crew is waiting for the crew on the platform - that girder platform seems to be the one of most interest today - the spiral is positioned in place with Skylar's hoist wires and now another TBL attending to it.

Walt still has the red carrier on the scaffold on the opposite side of the arrowhead directly across from the LC out of view. One of the crew just to the left side of the center vertical spiral is placing what looks like 2X4's aluminum u channels extending the floor of that particular scaffold.

The red carrier is returning with what looks like un - needed stuff from the scaffold

It appears that the crew has installed temporary stairs or some device to get from the scaffolds to the top of each girder above. The scaffolds are those to the left of the center view of the LC.

Q: Do we know where the new cables will attach to the superstructure?

Q: Do we know where the new cables will attach to the superstructure?
longtimefan: I would ask tomcat that question. From the rendering it looks like the girders but to be sure better ask him or someone that knows the more direct and true answer.

red carrier in the air carried by Walt up to the girder of interest today dead center girder from the LC

TBL finally being lowered after spending most of the afternoon working on the spiral just installed

Empty red carrier being lowered by Walt after spending an hour on the center scaffold. By the way - the scaffolds looking at the size of a crew and giving him a height of 6' then comparing his size to the length of the scaffold the scaffold has to be at least 20' IMO in the direction we are looking at it.

There has been a lone crew up on top of the girder with the lightning rod he's been up there checking things out for some time - noticed with every step he is holding onto the handrail. Long way down. ;)

The crew working or at least two of the crew are now descending from the scaffold of the girder of interest today.

Two crew are now walking the top of the truss/ girders. Don't know where the second crew came from but he was on the third scaffold over - maybe they have stairs (metal rope ladders only bigger and attached to the scaffold corners) on each side. TBL ready to take them down.

Waiting for another crew walking toward the TBL on the top of the girder.

TBL taking them down but there is still one crew up there so another trip up seems necessary.

Walt's block and hook are dangling in the middle of the view inside the Dome my mistake it's the crane inside the dome not Walt

The only other action is the TBL up on Forestry that was working on the installed spiral coming down for the day. Looks like the crews are finishing up. Good day. Looks like the 18th, Saturday could be the last IMO girder - the golden girder IMO. Time to find the weather report for tomorrow.

The WEATHER for Saturday 4 / 18 Don't like the wind tomorrow we'll see if they continue lifting steel.
