the mighty acc..

Somewhat off-topic...I'm looking forward to seeing which random (old school) ACC school Syracuse fans will come to hate. I'm not talking about a power school that challenges Syracuse on the court every year...I'm talking about a random school that Syracuse fans never cared about until "X" happened. Sort of like a Duke/Maryland kind of deal. I think that school for you all might be NC State (they have been piling on the "yankee" hate recently), but who knows...could be Clemson, or maybe even Virginia. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
I'll go with NC State as well. It started for me with Julius Hodge (hated it then, thank them for it now). Now it's just because their fanbase is almost as dumb as most SEC fanbases. I won't count Va Tech, or any other former Big East team, because I already hated them.

Why do you make it sound as if we stepped up in conference with the ACC move? The Big East was as deep as it gets, and we had plenty of "What losses" there. This year, the ACC is shaping up to be the easiest league schedule Syracuse has seen in a very long time.
That's a typical ACC fan perspective. First thing my brother-in-law (Duke fan living in Raleigh) said to me at Christmas was "I guess you guys will finally have some competition now that you're in the ACC". He's been claiming that the ACC is far superior to the BE since 2003, ironically when we won the NC. I told him that the ACC schedule is a major step-down from competition in the BE the last 4-5 years. I told him this is the easiest conference schedule we've had in years. 3 ranked teams in the whole conference and we're the highest one.

I find it extremely funny when ACC fans talk down to us and act like this is the first season where we have ever had to play a tough conference road game. They gave the same talk for football too. Just laughable.

I was surprised and disappointed at the lack of ranked teams when I looked at the schedule. I realized there was a drop off after the top of the league, but I didn't realize how big. I remember when we'd play 3-4-5-6 ranked teams in a row once we got into league play. To myself, I actually entertained the idea last week that we have a chance to go undefeated in the regular season this year. I know it won't happen because it's inevitable we'll have a bad game the same night someone has a really good game, but the idea of it has never entered my mind before.

I explained earlier that I pull for 'Cuse as well...grew up in upstate NY and went to more Syracuse games than I can remember. Did my undergrad at UNC and live down here now so they are my primary team, but I still consider myself a Syracuse fan as well. I usually just lurk on the Syracuse threads because you all know this current SU team better than I do.
.... whattttt?????
