in my opinion that could happen would be that we start Allen over the next 2 games and have him gain some confidence against vastly inferior opponents. Then we start him against Clemson and we get smoked because he is who he was in the first 2 games or worse because of the speed of Clemson.

False sense of security would be disastrous and my biggest fear with this team and schedule. IF a change is to be made, it needs to happen now.

Just my opinion.

It doesn't matter who our QB versus Clemson is, we still lose the game. Not much we can do right now against an opponent of that caliber right now.

SU would get smoked by Clemson with last years team. It doesn't matter who the QB is against them. What matters is that he gets it together to play NCST, Maryland and Pitt.

I want the coaches to start and play the QB who gives us the best chance to win and get back to bowl eligibility this year. If it's Allen, then let's use these two games to work out some kinks and improve the offense.

If it's Hunt, then use the two games to get him playing experience and for the team to get used to him being the signal caller.

I don't care which one of them gets the nod, provided one of them steps up and performs better.

I am not just talking about Clemson, I am talking about a false sense of security created by a great performance in the next 2 games. Then we lose to Clempsum which is as expected, then we start him against NC State and UMD, get more of the NW, Ped State performance from him and the season is lost.

But don't many teams open the season with one or two games against weak opponents so they can build some confidence and work out kinks? SU obviously didn't do that but isn't that the thought process? I don't care who we have at QB as long as it works.

To me, the worst thing would be for us to lose on Saturday while playing both Hunt and Allen because that would mean that this team is absolutely horrible in all aspects.

Having Allen make improvements during wins over the next 2 games is WAY down the list of "worst" things that could happen.

Allen is going to get his time to play well. If he doesn't play well than Hunt gets a real audition against Tulane. The real issue is will we win the game after Clemson.

Couldn't the same exact situation happen with Hunt too? Everyone thinks he is so much better than Allen because he looks good against two cupcakes?

Worst thing that could happen is we lose to Tulane.
