We're 17th in the country at 39 ppg and there's multiple threads of wanting to bench our 4 year starting qb that is creating the majority of those points on his own. Just completely idiotic.

does it matter to you if he's hurt?

If we're still scoring 37 while he's hurt then no it doesn't. He's the least of our problems.

I just think if he’s hurt/dinged up he shouldn’t take every snap if he’s performing poorly or noticeably fatigued

If he really is hurt then he shouldn't play. Too many gimme passes the last 2 weeks didn't land.

Otherwise 37 should always be enough to beat Pitt when we don't give them a red carpet to the endzone.

agreed. if hes hurt, and as a result, cant do more than hand off on 3 consecutive plays midway through the 4th before punting, or if for some reason the coaches dont trust him to throw there, then we cant win. Those scenarios merit at least considering a change.

yards are a better predictor than points. seems like we go through this every year

Special Teams is the least of our problems.

People should stop blaming one thing. I know the human mind isn't built that way when it comes to sports fans.

37 points didn't win us a game, so we need to score more than 37 points. Is our QB too injured to do that, and could the backup possibly lead us to more (ONLY because of a QB1 injury)? These are the things that I'm quite certain our coach is thinking about during the bye week.

a lot of this fear is about expectations

the offense needs to get better quick because i don't think the defense can

I think this board was out of control from late Saturday afternoon until Sunday about 6 pm or so. After the first 24 hours most posters found their equilibrium.

I tried to stay away because I knew it would be a bloodbath. Some usual suspects, old practiced takes. Some measured posts here or there.

My fav is the “I never post, but fire everyone” takes

Yeah. Usually a team doesn't get better tackling in the middle of the season.

An offense can function better as it finds its footing though.

Everyone saying they want to bench Dungey seems to be saying that because it’s obvious that Dungey is injured. I don’t think that’s a particularly crazy suggestion.

I'm in the camp saying don't bench Dungey, but give him a breather now and again and have T-Shirt Time sling it for a series or two.

I totally agree with this assessment. Give him an unofficial pitch count.

Exactly ... Ollison ran 8 ypc and almost 200 yards on us but no one's asking if our LB's or safeties are hurt.

No kidding. How many passes did Pitt even attempt in the 4Q and OT? I can remember 1 I think. Pretty much the same for Clemson.

you must've missed the posts where people want them to rotate in more LBs

good kicker and short fields can get you points despite the offense not being very good

The thing is, if we can get by with a 60-70% Dungey, I’m ok with giving it the ole college try.

That said, if he is then asked to win with his arm...and he can’t do it, then u have to question why DeVito hasn’t broken a sweat in the game already.

If you only could have seen all the deleted posts.

The key this year has been all three phases playing together, Saturday they didn't dominate field position, the offense didn't protect the ball and didn't extend the lead that feeds the defensive advantage on pass rush, and the defense didn't get the third down stops they had been getting all year.

It absolutely wasn't one thing.
