Class of 2022 This year’s class

I could be wrong but I feel early in DB tenure at Syracuse he used far more trick plays and gadget plays.

Those seemed to dry up the last two seasons.
Ever wonder why that is? Hmmm... what else has been different the last two years?...

Lost out on Belin but I still think the staff is doing a solid job recruiting coming off a 1-10 season. It could be worse. 5 out of our 6 commits have other P5 offers. These are not reaches. I just wish we start getting some offensive guys soon. LaQuint Allen is our lone offensive commit and I actually like him more at DB.
For coming off a 1-10 season i guess it's the best we can hope for. The most disappointing thing is it's status quo at best, and look where that has got us. imo recruiting has gone done hill since Dino year 1 and that is not a good sign.

All I know is it looks like Rutgers has the number 11
Class for next year

Then you need to know that these rankings will change as other teams fill out their classes. They currently have about 13 commits and rankings are partly based on numbers. Yeah, they may end up ranked higher than us but for them it means nothing until they can convert that to wins in the big ten.

RU and BCs good classes are more quantity over quality. The average recruit ranking will tell you where they end up. RU right now is around 20th and BC is closer to 40

I go back and forth on being happy or upset with our recruiting under Dino. I think it's been improved but there have been a few issues:

1. They've missed on too many #1 QB Targets every class
2. They targeted too many WRs instead of OL in his early classes.

If we want to be a yearly top 25 team again obviously recruiting has to improve, but the only way it will is if Dino can win more games, get to more bowl games, and thus attract more generous donations from the boosters to upgrade staff and facilities.

Rutgers back up to #8 nationally and they are getting NJ’s best while Cuse cannot recruit their own state even though the talent is sparse. Local P5 rivals RU, Pitt and BC are handing it to Dino and this isn’t anything new since he took over as HC. Hoping for better sooner than later.

You get what you pay for. I can’t speak for Pitt and BC but RU donors opened up the checkbooks when Schiano came back and he has one of the most highly paid staffs in the B1G. He’s also selling recruits on a $200m football facility he hasn’t even started fundraising for yet.

I disagree. He did good in 2019. We have picked up some quality players. Big improvement over SS recruiting classes. The fail has been at qb and OL. This year is going to be difficult. Coming off 1-10 with a coach on the hot seat is going to limit recruiting. If we start to win we may pick up some higher rated players late in the cycle. If not we will probably have a new staff and we will see where that goes. Personally hoping for a good season and an uptick at the end of the cycle.

Rinse wash and repeat. Still can’t believe we are in this position at this point with Dino. The way he came out of the gate was inspiring. Now I’m just bracing myself for another reset
