bc, wake, syracuse just in the last week
I predict we will only have 3 commits with over a 85 composite rating. It is what it is fellas. It can change if the season goes better than expected. We are coming off a 1-10 season. All I can say it that we are getting negative recruited by many schools. You can probably guess one of the schools just by the timing of my post.
You don’t read my dude.
I literally said, on the flipside, we usually offer early before other “blue bloods” offer
all of those that you mentioned, from what I can tell, are guys who received those offers after Syracuse offered…
Mani Powell is a prime example…his offers when Syracuse offered was… CMU, Kent St, YSU, Liberty, WMU, Buffalo, Syracuse
those are all mid majors my man
Not trying to be rude but gotta be realistic
I agree. Im sure it plays out like that in a lot of situations.Have to think some/many recruits pick up on that. "You're recruiting me, why are you so busy talking about another school?"
All struggling P5 teams have prospects with lots of G5 offers. Thats not really a surpirse. Most of our commits do have other P5 offers. Until we start winning we wont get prospects with all P5 offers. Not sure what you expect from a team with recruiting challenges within the state and has 12 losing seasons in 16 years. You don’t read my dude.

My next door neighbor is raising chickens. I would happily donate some to a good cause.
While we maybe should expect lower rated recruits this year due to our lousy record last year, alternatively we should expect higher rated recruits because other teams are taking less players in this class. We all want good recruits now. We don't want to wait on putting a class together and feel like we are behind our peers, but it may be the best move for our class as we hopefully have better on field results to attract better talent at the end of the recruiting period, there should be decent talent available with out many landing spots, recruits can be better evaluated based on this falls game film as last year evaluation of players was difficult. There could be some guys that are just under the radar as they didn't have much opportunity to show there skills. We probably going to be down on recruits going into the season. DB will not settle on players. Which is good.
Personally I do not care how many commits we have by the season starts. If we win I could see recruits committing before signing period. If we do not win we will be in reset mode with a new coach and staff.
There is also the portal where we can fill where necessary.
No reason to freak out at this point.
Need to be aggressive with transfers going forward, the portal will always have players that can help us

We need to be aggressive with our offensive play calling a lot more.
We do, but you're only as good as the personnel you have. You can't have your QB take 5 or 7 step drop plays if your O-line can't hold up for that long.
Yup being agressive doesnt necessarily mean take deep shots. I would have like to see more gadget plays, trick plays early on to add a spark to the offense and make the defense a little more honest. We didnt do a good enough job hiding our defeciencies. The gadget plays helps with thatSure.
On the other hand, you need plays that develop quicker, and you need counters to slow down the blitz.
If you can't do those things, you can't do anything.
As we saw last year. That stuff was awful.

We have a TE who is 6-7 and about 265, if he can catch the ball throw it to him across the middle, and let him punish people. Louisville has been doing that to us for years.Yup being agressive doesnt necessarily mean take deep shots. I can’t see Dino not playing him, even if TD starts. His running ability with decent passing options can’t be ignored in situations to throw off opposing defenses. I say start the best man and see where the season takes us.Not sure shrader will start the season but I do think he could excel in our system. A mobile qb cannot be understated. He may not be able to throw the deep ball as well as others but I do believe he can move the chains and score.
Its very puzzling why we dont throw in the middle of the field or throw to the TE more. Im glad you mentioned that. I dont understand that either. We have a TE who is 6-7 and about 265, if he can catch the ball throw it to him across the middle, and let him punish people. Louisville has killed us like that for years, they have had guys 6-5 and 235-250. You get a big TE in the middle of the field, and he creates nightmares for the defense. Its very puzzling why we dont throw in the middle of the field or throw to the TE more. Baylor had that 400 lb TE who was a nightmare for teams.Louisville has killed us like that for years, they have had guys 6-5 and 235-250. You get a big TE in the middle of the field, and he creates nightmares for the defense.
You are right, Lewis did more gadget stuff.I could be wrong but I feel early in DB tenure at Syracuse he used far more trick plays and gadget plays.
Those seemed to dry up the last two seasons.
Not for nothing, but if 5 star recruits are a measure of disappointment for you, well, we haven't had one in over 20 years. Even during our power years in the 90's we landed maybe 1 a year if we were lucky. The top 25 are the 5 stars - hell we haven't even had a top 100 recruit from any service since Cecil Howard in 2001.What’s sad is the pool of recruits we are looking at. We aren’t even in the running for four and five rated recruits. We aren’t even getting a sniff at these recruits. We are battling and losing three star recruits. Dino is not bringing in anyone who will make an immediate impact. Occasionally, we will get a steal, but we‘re still near the bottom of the pack in the ACC. Dino needs to pull in a huge difference maker. By year six this should be happening.
