We’ve gotten blown out literally every game this year except for GT. The QB makes no difference this year.
It such a weird thread. “Hey guys, miss the QB that couldn’t put at TD on the board against this team last year, and would have lost like every other QB in FBS?”

I mean, I miss Donovan McNabb. That makes more sense.

He holds the 55 meter record in Maryland. The kid has Jets. Jordan isnt an every down back. Great talent for sure but Tucker is the better RB.

And really it isn’t close. Tucker is the starter from now until he leaves. Mix in Jordan on 3rd down and in the slot, and look for Hough to split series after a possible redshirt year.

Now that we have gotten past Clemson it’s time for Babers to get both true freshman reps at QB. We can’t go thru this season without a 4 game redshirt rule and not play/develop a potential QB of the future.

Agreed. At least do something like what Marrone did with Nassib in his freshman year and bring him in for some series’s every game.

no doubt I just don’t see that super elusiveness yet but he’s only played a few ganes

the difference from last year and this year was the pass protection in the game we had lots of clean pockets today credit the Oline they are getting better. smarten up

This is one of the saddest threads I’ve seen here. Kids play their guts out in a game they were 40+ dogs in with a QB who is obviously over his skis but plays with heart and survived cancer... a game late in the 3rd Q?

I’m just giddy all these young guys got a chance to play Clemson early in their careers and that Culpepper is playing CFB.

Perspective is bent all out of whack.

This season is not about w/l it’s about growth. Queely, Tucker, the OL, a bunch of guys on D ... cmon.

Tucker isn’t elusive in a Jordan kind of way, but he’s quite good and makes people miss and falls fwd for 3-5 yds on accident. He’s the future and will be an asset for whoever is playing QB

Tucker is the best back we have had in years. His feet, vision, balance, power and speed are pretty amazing. He is running behind a poor OL, with a QB that has guts but not much of an Arm against the number 1 team on the road as a true frosh and he played lights out. The kids a star.

Do you miss him yet? This isn't even high school level QB play. If we had Tommy we might have had a prayer today.
We would not have had a prayer. He would have been sacked 10 times. Rex threw ints and is not the answer but neither is TD.

No. Not really.

Rex is a great story, bad QB.

TD isn’t a “bad” QB, but he’s not at all the type of QB we need. Behind a P5 team with a good OL, or in the G5, Tommy would probably look decent.

Having a pocket passer QB is absurd for most teams outside of the 4 who get elite OL recruits. If Mike Leach can’t make it work outside of the PAC 12, why do we think we can?

Can’t be happy we were tough vs Clemson.

gotta find a thread about Tommy and take passive aggressive pot shots because people are annoyed with the dad!

surprised this threads not locked.

He has an ACC calibre arm. In fact, he has an NFL caliber arm, but there's more to being a QB than having a hose.
I came to this same conclusion somewhere along the way. In my reckoning, when he first started to play football, his coaches watched him and said "He's got a strong arm. Let's make him our QB".

I think it’s weird people think it’s impossible to have a good OL here. There are many, many teams in the lower part of the P5 that can string together a decent OL. Blocking Clemson is hard for elite teams and should not be used as a benchmark.*

* although I thought our OL looked ok yesterday

It’s just a lot tougher to recruit, as there’s not many dudes out there that are big, strong and agile. The ones that are go to about 4 schools... Bama, Georgia, Clemson and OSU with some other SEC teams picking up the rest. Even Clemson just started entering this conversation.

Its possible to have a good experienced O line at Syracuse.

it’s impossible to have a good experienced O line when the first six in line are hurt.

Depends what your definition of good is. For me it would be a Top 25 OL. Since an OL consists of 5 guys, is only as strong as its weakest link, and SU won't have many Top 25 recruiting classes, it would be very difficult for us to have a good OL. Definitely won't happen on a constant basis. Especially without an OL guru coaching. We certainly can and should have decent OLs. We should IMO be in that 40-60 range most seasons with the occasional higher or lower unit. The problem IMO is we likely will be in that 60-75 range next year with an experienced OL.

I like the kid but if you are using our other QB's as reference points you are starting at rock bottom. Better than really poor is not what any program needs much less ours.

That was the point of the thread. We realize td isn't Trevor Lawrence but look at how bad things are behind him. It's a you don't realize what you have till it's gone.
