I'd say over half the posts on this board (at least half the threads) are taking shots at our current team. So it’s not like we are overlooking our own woes or situation.
For me anyway, It's OK as a fan to make some light of the failures of teams or the coaching failures of those that we dislike.It’s part of the fan experience. Whether Syracuse is good or bad.

Doug hasn't done himself any favors by continuing to be so visible online and convincing GB's AD to let him continue hosting his (higher-paying) radio show while being a rookie HC. That's a pretty sweet finesse, you have to admit; What are the chances he would allow any of his players to have a daily or near-daily 3-hour podcast if they could make money on it? But he's right about Schefter being a mouthpiece for that Sacramento NIL collective.
His worst player is hurt and he took the job roughly a month after most new head coaches take over. GB was supposed to stink and they stink. Per KenPom's email newsletter they were "only" 8-point favorites to Michigan Tech. And the "Nobody U" comment was taken wildly out of context at a time when nothing else was going on sports-wise so it soaked up all the oxygen.
I'm not trying to get anyone behind Doug's side, but it is pretty crazy how this became such a thing this week.

It’s become such a thing because he is such a dislikable and arrogant SOB who has a large hater club that goes far beyond SU fans. If he were a nice guy there wouldn’t be a story.
