Tom savage

I heard something about that possibility a few weeks ago-Very bizarre, especially with how ugly it got at the end b/w Schiano and his Dad

Savage has been selling himself at places closer to home like Delaware, but I guess there have been no takers.
Tough situation for a young man considering his family medical situation.

whats wrong with his family situation?

He has takers at that level but contacted Rutgers as his first choice to see if they were interested. With RU running a pro style offense again under Cignetti he would add some depth and it fits his skill set. If he gets a hardship waiver from the NCAA he would have two years to play. I feel RU will take him back and will give him another shot to compete with no promises as to playing time...

Back to rutgers ??

Show's you how bad their QB situation is when they would consider taking back a QB whose family despised shady and let him know it.

Actually Tom loved Rutgers but didn't feel he would play so he left. Obviously he wouldn't be asking to come back if he didn't like Schiano/Rutgers. His dad didn't like that his son was benched(what dad would).

Our QB situation is actually pretty solid with everyone returning along with a few solid freshman coming in. Truth be told Savage put up great numbers his freshman year at RU when we ran a pro style offense. After we switched to the wildcat BS he was like a deer in headlights and our Oline was terrible. I wouldn't be surprised to see him do well with his experience under Cignetti in our pro style offense again. We will have a good Oline next year and very good recievers.

I think it is a win/win situation. We add depth to the QB position with a seasoned pro style QB who knows our program. He gets a chance to play in an offense which suits him well at the school he wants to be at. He knows nothing is promised to him. He will have a chance to compete for the position and fight to be the starter like everyone else which may or may not happen.

You mean after he was sacked 9 times in the Carrier Dome during a 31-13 loss, right?

That is exactly what he meant. Can you honestly and objectively disagree with that RRRUUU? I mean, Tom Savage was a great quarterback until Doug Hogue shot through his earhole over and over and he really never had the same pocket presence in games I saw subsequently. It's like he got a happy foot infection that day.

How can that be? I thought Marrone was a poor coach according to Rrruuuu? You mean to tell me Syracuse actually beat Rutgers? Holy cow.

Your QB situation must be so solid that you are able to start a freshman year in and year out (which also speaks volumes about the sheer recruiting dominance of mighty Rutgers) and continue to win all these championships.

Please inform us which new freshman savior is going to lead you to fourth straight BCS game this year? Last year's duo of Nova and Huggins was formidable, bit then again the Chas Dodd lead team of two years ago was remarkable as well. You gave Auburn quite a scare in the national championship. Which is even more impressive when you contrast that to Tom Savage's performance in the Orange Bowl a few years back.

So many talented and established QB's on the roster, what a wonderful conundrum to have!

I don't despise Rutgers like many here but I don't understand why Rutgers fans seem to claim dominance, we are 2-1 against them in the Marrone era and handed them a game this year, just seems really weird to me. Like I said, I don't really think of Rutgers one way or the other as I don't say Cinci or USF, just seems odd that Rutgers posters here all seem to feel that the program as accomplished much of anything, that I just don't get. I really don't

he's a butgirls fan give him a break-

they are all mentally challenged-you have to be too follow a program thats strives to reach the level of subpar and rejoices when it happens-100 plus year of crap football will do that-just look at us after 10 bad years and we have history

its also a fact most cant do math- 2-1 since robinson left -or they just go back far enough to make it look like they are series winners-lol-

they think that if you wish hard enough and overpay your head coach and increase the size of your stadium-championships would follow

everyone is a rival when you never win -

What has Savage been up to? Watching Jersey Shore? Did he get fat?

Stayed in shape by washing and waxing his Camaro daily, when he wasnt' working Snooki out in the smush room.

I still think they should be inhabiting the boards of their new conference mates and not bother coming here to tout their dominance over the Howards and Norfolk States and FIU's of the world. They're "trew wit us" after next year anyway.

Old habits are hard to break. Kind of like the minority in here who insult BC every chance they get because WVU fans have told them BC was a traitor to leave the Big East (as SU was ready to do at the time and has now done)

Some Rutgers fans have always wanted SU to be some sort of "rival" because they have never had a "rival" and they wanted someone with a history to fill that role. It has driven them crazy for years that SU fans never taken them seriously.

We'll see the gradual disappearnce oof Rutgers fans. But old habits die hard.

My sources tell me Savage came to Delaware to speak with Keeler, but K.C. wasn't interested. The Blue Hens ended up taking a transfer QB from Bowling Green instead (Trent Hurley).

I wish Savage no ill-will in dealing with a difficult family situation, just trying to set the record straight.
