They have Clemson where they want them with using their fast offense . Clemsons defense was tired , and slowing down the offense gave Clemson defense a breath .They almost blew the chance to not give Clemson the ball again with a couple of hard 3rd down plays which they shouldn't have been in that situation . They were beating them with their fast offense and there was too much time on the clock to start slowing down. Bad coaching on that one. But we won. I can see this Win

The real question is why did we run up the middle in the closing seconds of the 1st half?? The potential negatives far outweigh the potential positives.

Yeah this was exactly what we needed to do. One thing that is so great about Dino is that yes he is a tempo coach and brings an incredible fast paced style of football, but he also truly understands the game and matchups. Last night we saw a new wrinkle with a bunch of movement pre snap paired with some traditional clock management to further tire an already tired defense. Running down the clock is exactly the right move and overall I couldn't be more impressed by how much traditional football Dino has sprinkled into his style of play. Same goes with the blitz packages on defense.

Well, it worked two weeks in a row. The score and the last 6 minutes mirrored last weeks win over Pitt. Bad coaching? Dude it's basic football. If we have the ball, slow it down and grind it out, we win. End of story.

Huh? I thought it was incredible that we were able to hold the ball that long and grind out the game like that without them ever getting the ball back. This isn’t the GRob or Shafer era...picking up a 3rd and 11 isn’t an impossible task anymore.

*This staff just beat the defending national champs with a bunch of 2 star and 3 star recruits...the words “bad coaching” should never be uttered on here anymore. Coaching is the biggest advantage we have and it’s what is turning the program around.

Two weeks in a row we've seen the offense put a game away, (or virtually so), with a long, grinding 4th quarter drive. Spread teams aren't supposed to be able to do that. Orange is the new slow. When we want it to be.

Being a Bengals fan I know all about clock mismanagement under Marvin Lewis' tenure......a TO should have been called but everyone will get a pass....Dino knows what he's doing and rest assured this will be addressed and wont happen again...

I actually thought our clock management at the end of the Pitt game was horrific, and the clock management at the end of the Clemson game was fantastic. Fortunately they both worked out for us in the end.

Last night was textbook on what this offense allows you to do. It's not just about filling the air with footballs and snapping the ball every 12 seconds. If that approach lets you build a 20-30 point lead by the end of the 3rd qtr, then great. If not, it gets the defense gassed and lets you do exactly what we did last night...pound the rock into a tired defensive line to protect a narrow lead.

Bad coaching? I hope we get coaching this bad for the next 20 years.

See, the thing is that they just took longer to run the plays, they didn't change what they were doing on O. It's not as if they ran off tackle every play just to keep the clock running. Big difference, IMO.
