Top 10 PGs all-time per ESPN

I am C's fan and don't take the bait when asked who is the Celtics leading scorer which is Hondo but I think Pippen was the better player.

Watching Pippen carry Chicago in 1993 and 1994 showed me all needed from the guy. Those teams with Pippen were dangerous and were a horrible foul called by Hue Hollins in game 5 vs. NYK from going to the NBA Finals IMO.
I think Havlicek was more of a leader. Statistically the two were close, and I just see Havlicek having more of an edge in certain categories... On another note, if Worthy is considered a 3, who was the power forward on those Laker teams?

Kurt Rambis, A.C. Green, those Lakers teams also acquired Bob McAdoo and Mychel Thompson.

Worthy was a SF who couldn't shoot the 3 ball but he was definitely a SF. He would defend Bird while Rambis/Green guarded McHale.

I'm sure you read this in the Simmons book but Worthy's 3 point numbers are hilarious. 5-82 in his first 7 years

Michael Cooper defended Bird as well.

Durant ahead of Pippen is just so stupid and playing in to the new school. I love Durant and think he is a great player but if you told me I could start my team and choose between 1991 Scottie Pippen or 2012 Kevin Durant I am taking Pippen all day every day.

Pippen could guard pretty much any player and his offense was so underrated.
Lebron will end up the greatest SF so I would put him 1st Bird 2nd.

True. Durant might go down as one of the more gifted offensive players ever though. The guy is almost seven feet.

He's got a shot at 50/40/90 this year. Done it once before already.

I once saw him described as a taller Steph Curry. Not 100% accuarate, but certainly a lot of the same qualities.

all i know is that when espn comes out with their top 10 awkward looking white dudes list, pat cummings better be #1

Pippen is arguably the greatest and most versatile wing defender of all time.

Also was running the point forward position when no one else was.

I'll defend Pippen forever. He's usually vastly underrated on lists like these.

The original "point forward" was Marques Johnson, Milwaukee Bucks.

When I see morons in miscellaneous comments sections saying things like Pippen was a role player and wouldn't be anything without MJ, I literally get light-headed. Guy was a superstar.

I think Dr. J is being seriously underestimated in here. We're talking about a guy who averaged 24, 8, and 4 on 50% shooting for his career. Just watch the final moments of his career and listen to the announcers gush over him and the opposing fans cheering him as hard as they are their own team that's winning a playoff series. There's no way Pippen was better IMO, or Durant has surpassed him(yet - he very well may).

Big Country

I'll see your Big Country and raise you one Marty Conlon. I can't post a picture right now, but google this goofy former Providence Friar. In the Big East magazine one year, he was in at least three pictures of other players, and in each one it looked like he was throwing a fit.

How 'bout them Spurs? : )
Not the outcome I would've preferred, but good, tough game between two of the three premier teams in the league. Curious to see how the Cavs come back tomorrow night at Houston before ending this 6-game roadie and heading home to play Golden State Monday night. Not exactly breaking news, but San Antonio is so good and deep, and I like how the Cavs are coming along with Kyrie starting to get it together.

In order to measure the whole of Dr. J's career, you have to include his ABA years, which are largely lost to video. Something has to be said for how Dr. J changed the game. Few people can have that said about them: Mikan, Cousy, Bailor, O, Russell, Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. J, Magic, MJ, and now Curry. I'm probably missing a few.

Connie Hawkins - discuss
He may show up on today's top power forwards...Duncan will be number 1 but predicting who comes next is a bit trickier. My guess is the mailman.

Doctor J before Doctor J. A shame that he wrongfully blackballed from the game in his prime years and that we were deprived of seeing them.
