Torrence needs to be the point guard going forward

Well, I think the only issue here is whether it should be Symir or Jesse (that behind the back pass showed more creativity than we have seen from the starting backcourt all season long).

You must have been more impressed by SU's offense when Symir was in the game than I was. Duke outscored us by a lot when he was at the point.

Any discussion of making him the point guard has to include whether to go with a three guard lineup or do you sit one of best shooters and scorers. We also have to consider the positive and negative impacts it has on the team you have on the court. I sure didn't come away from today's blowout that Torrance is the answer to our problems. Symir had 6 assists in a game where anybody he passed the ball to who wasnt a center could not make a shot.

Duke was playing kind of crappy for much of the first half, before Sy came in, really.

Symir is the only person on the roster capable of running the offense…but he cannot finish, so he’s not as effective as he could be if some of his penetrations could lead to direct points. Then the kick out for open threes is far more open.

Makes me really appreciate what Marek did here his final two years….

He is 9-17 in his last 5 games so there is definite improvement.

It’s not because of him. It’s because we use a three-guard lineup most of the time he’s on the floor. Say what you want about Junior and Swider, but they’re better defensive forwards than Buddy.

At this point, I think JB needs to consider resting Buddy and Girard more to account for Torrence’s minutes. Maybe Anselem can play some minutes at forward, especially if Sidibe can play sparingly as a third center.

Yeah, you have to wonder if he just needs to shake off that last bit of rust (or, technically, already has, like you suggest). Maybe it's too late for Benny to average 15 a night with 10 more minutes a game this year, but Sy doesn't really stand out as a colossal bunny misser on this team.
