I think he is who he is.

He shot 24% from 3 in AAU play before he went to Duke.

That's only based on 41 3-pt shots in AAU. I'm not saying Trey be the next Steph Curry but he did shoot 33% on 3-pt in his high school career while shooting 54% overall FG% so he has the ability to shoot better than he has so far at Duke.

Edit: I went back and looked he shot better when he was younger. Looks like maybe his shot is getting worse?

As someone who misses legit point guard play, I’d take him.

Jason Hart couldn’t shoot either, but he was a catalyst. Kid is a solid player.

When we look back, you'll be the one proven right. He won't be as overshadowed next year, and shooting is something that can be improved.

My kingdom for him as our PG, no matter what the experts here think of him after one season.
