Trishton Jackson declares for the NFL Draft

I am not sure I am as high on Taj as you are. What in his game makes you think that? I see Taj as very inconsistent and not because of TD. I think allot of people are remembering a couple nice plays he had over final couple games. I think he can be a nice #2/#3 on the field but he doesn’t scream #1 leading talent or leader to me from what I have seen. Maybe I wasn’t seeing something though. I will certainly say once the ball is in his hands his efforts seem better, becomes a “scrapper” so to speak. A little Phil McConky ish in that regard. A #1 though? Not sure.
When I look at Taj, I see a receiver who does more with less ...he gets less looks, and when he does get a touch it's rarely because he is wide open, and he makes so many defenders miss after the catch it's ridiculous. He is just much more elusive, and has a good set of hands when the ball is actually catchable.

I think Dino loves to give the benefit of the doubt to upperclassmen when it comes to game time opportunities, and I love that about him, but I think it's Taj Time

Hope it works out. I personally think if he came back next year it would’ve made his chances better. Better line and more experience at the QB spot. I bet another 1k receiving yards year would’ve been helpful. I just hate to see him not make it and he had the chance to get his masters and possibly a better stock. Good luck Trishton!

Honest question, do we know anything about Russel Thompson Bishop’s development?

Gotta say I had high hopes for him too based on watching him play HS ball. Strong kid with good size.

Disappointed not to see him push for time. Hopefully a case of some kids just needing a little longer to develop.

Lydon, Richardson, Ennis, McCullough, Grant, MCW, Waiters, Trishton Jackson

Football is different than basketball. He's not a HB where you want them to leave earlier because their bodies can't take that much punishment due to their short shelf life.

That's a fair statement.

Here's a question

Does anyone have any idea that another year at Syracuse would help?

I don't think so.. he goes undrafted and ends up on a practice squad regardless...

Yes it would. This isn't the draft for just any receiver to come out. I think he has the skills to be a pro. This is a year in which good talent can get overlooked because of the depth available at the position.

How do you know next year won't be more loaded at the position? If he's graduating and wants to get paid playing football, there's no way to know when the perfect time to go is. He's not going to get faster here, he's not going to learn to run routes better here. If he sees fit to go now than he goes. Whatever team takes a look at him, he'll get to practice and make football his entire life, not just some of it. From there he can truly learn and develop what he needs to, and if he can do those things, he hangs around

Yeah, and many will continue to use the Next Man Up line.
No one had much faith when AET left, certainly fewer had faith when Erv and Steve left. We will find someone to plug the gap

I have no doubt we’ll find someone to “plug the gap.” Will it be someone good enough to elevate the offense and help the program become bowl eligible?

Won’t really matter if our O line still sucks and our offensive scheme continues to leave out 1/3 of the field. Added experience in the OL, and dynamic TE’s in Hackett and Benson should alleviate that worry. Hopefully Johnson can salvage his college career and turn a corner as a homerun threat too.

Harris will be the clear one which he has the talent for. Disappointed we didn’t see any Courtney Jackson and little Cameron Jordan but think they fill in. Hoping Elmore moves to D permanently (need him there) and Hackett and Benson are Utis lizard mire.

Who else picks up the slack? Hoping Alford is as good as advertised. Not much faith in Iohnson but who knows. Anyone hear about Ed Hendrix? Sounded like he had the highest ceiling of anyone we’ve recruited at WR under Babers.

Best of luck Trishton and thanks for a great year!

Think the only things holding Queely and Shardon back may be muscle. They have an opportune off season ahead of them.

Bowl eligibility/elevating the offense will not be made or broken by the guy(s) replacing Jackson alone. To be clear Jackson didn't make us bowl eligible either. Everyone needs to do their part. I absolutely believe that if the Oline does their jobs next year and keeps TD upright and the coaches advance their playcalling and TD shows some maturity in the pocket and is willing to tuck and aggressively run when situations offer, then that will set the stage for success for our receiving corps who we have some talent in to include 2 freshman coming in who are already physically ready to play. To summarize. Line play will be crucial. Play calls must get better. TD needs to take the next step. Plenty of talent at WR.

Because you can project classes up to a year in advance? CBS has 19 wide receivers among the top 100 players overall with six projected in the first round. ESPN has this class as the deepest in six years. Seven of PFFs Top 32 are wideouts. Having a better year (stat padding) can improve your positioning. I don't know what I'm talking about though so I'll see myself out.

it wouldve if he said...'Coach, im coming back. I am going to put up ALL-ACC #s...and i want to play every single down on Special Teams'.

even if he didnt play Specials, he still wouldve played football in the fall of 2020.

something that wont happen now.

Lol. All those guys were 1st rd picks except Grant. We're talking about a guy that might go undrafted. Can probably compare him to Oshae if you want to use an accurate example.

You are absolutely correct. The consensus is that this class is on par with the 2014 class in terms of high end guys and the depth.

In October he was still with her, and they were very close. I could find out, but it is not really my business. Another way to think of this is that he saw what happened with Tiana, and had the epiphany that you never know what can happen, so take your chances when you can. Yes, I believe he is graduating. No he does not need to get her health insurance. She is cancer free, and almost done with everything. She has insurance. She is a student at SU. She is covered. So no, no and no to above posts. Even if he plays in the CFL he gets to do what he loves and gets paid. Will I miss him, yes. Will the team miss him, probably. He and Devito had good communications as opposed to other receivers. It would have been nice to build on that. But Devito should be ready for his leap and of course we have my favorite AZ player Jawhar, and Jarveon was showing really good things. So that should help open up the passing game also. Good rushers help.

I have a source extremely close to one party in the Tiana/Trishton situation. They are no longer together.

I thought he might stay to be with Tiana:

Are they still together? Is she leaving? or maybe he feels the need to make money and get health insurance for her?

They are no longer together

the example is that a good amount of people always are up in arms when a player leaves Syracuse early. Always claiming to know that one more year here would absolutely develop them more, when frankly, we have no idea

Ugh.

Did he and T break up?
Youd think they’d both want to come back next year for a final year together, then head off to their respective Pro careers on a high note.

Oh well.
Of AET, Ish, Custis, and TJ, I’d rate Trishton 3rd, above only Custis.
But Custis is a specimen, who is also excellent on ST’s.

TJ isn’t particularly big, tall, fast, elusive, or have amazing hands, so I’m not sure what he’s banking on to get him a sniff at the NFL.

I hope we're not seeing Bill Schaar part 2.

Dropped at least 5 touchdowns this season. That doesn’t fly in the nfl. Good luck
