This is technically, and grammatically, correct.

"Among" could mean "surrounded by" or "in the company of". Under this meaning, they are "in the company" of 4 schools, of which we are one.

The alternate meaning is that they are "in a group of", in which case this stat would be erroneous.

The stat I couldn't believe was that UVa had their 1st first rounder in 20 something years. That amazed me.

That really surprises me too but their program really dropped towards the end of the Jeff Jones era into the Gillen and Leitao era.
