UConn Coming (2 and 2)

I don’t think it is by chance that we play UConn on the road in 2022. That season, we already have 2 OOC home games scheduled and we know we will have another when we schedule our FCS opponent. So have already have 7 home games set up.

Further, I think phase 2 of the dome renovation is penciled in for completion in September of 2022. Playing on the road September 10th might give the crew a couple of extra weeks to finish things up, assuming we play on the road on September 3rd.

I bet we might playing on the road 9/3/22 our top priority when the ACC schedule for 2022 is put together.

i look forward to the day after our 2nd home game when we tell them we are not going to honor the deal and we back out of the last game, because we could play Navy or whomever.

all the crying here will be epic.

screw them, we should screw em over.

We need to win 6 games every year. The ACC Atlantic schedule is frigging brutal.

Any OOC win we can get is a huge help.
Dino is a good coach, making a bowl game lets him coach his players that much more.
Development is KEY.

If we do that then I won’t shed a tear but unless the contract has a buyout its just bad faith.
We signed a deal we should honor the deal. Again it’s Uconn so I won’t complain but the 2-2 is just a terrible deal.

If our schedule is too tough we aren’t making a bowl game ...let alone the playoffs. Let’s try and be consistently good first
Our schedule isn't too tough. It was just a poor job by the entire team last year.
We underachieved last year and we only played 1 ranked team.
Clemson/Florida State are a tier above but we play 2-3 tomato cans a year to balance it out.
If the coaches recruit better that will make these 50/50 games go better.

This has to be the last even deal with Yukon.
I was hoping for a 3-for-2, or a 2-for-1+NYC.

This is likely a de facto 2 for 1 as I bet the penalty for skipping 2027 @ Yukon is considerably less expensive than our standard home and away deals.

At least I hope it is significantly discounted given the chance SU could be left holding an FCS bag in 7 years.

Time will tell. This is a standard Friday news dump that's about as meh as it gets.

Winning 6 games with 4 of them against non P5 teams isn't consistently good.

i would hope there is room for a backout or for them to move it to Yankee Stadium.

a 2 & 1 is what was leaked, then we get Negan'd today.

Has anyone in the ACC even scheduled a team from the other division as an OOC game?

I think it's ridiculous.
Yeah. It's not uncommon. I like the idea once we've reestablished ourselves as a consistently good team.

If they are so terrible (they are) how the heck will the game end up at Yankee Stadium (it won't).

Play it at the new soccer stadium they plan on building down the street.

X

Old Dominion, UNC-Charlotte, UMass.

You give Army a 2 for 2. They deserve our respect. If you play to UConn it’s 1-1.
2-2 is a terrible series. Just play them every year. Our fans don’t need to see them more frequently than Coastal teams if it’s going to be a home/home.
All of those teams are better than UConn besides UMass and playing UConn makes more sense than them so what’s the big deal

Bah. I don't want to give UCONN the chance to knock off the National Champion home, or away to revitalize their program.

We tried playing tough schedules. It was the most miserable period in Syracuse's history of football.

If we are going to play a top 25 schedule, we better be recruiting to 25 classes. We aren't. And we won't be recruiting top 25 classes until we start winning.

Win first, get recruits, then branch out a little. There is no other way for Syracuse to do it.

With Clemson, Florida St, Louisville, NC St, and Pitt every year we need to schedule OOC wins every year. Then every 3 or 4 years we get Notre Dame. Need to get to a bowl game every year.

Yeah. When the media starts complaining that we're running up thw score too often, I'll complain that our schedule is too easy.

I love good OOC opponents, but I don't love losing to all of them. I hope we can build up to scheduling some of them before too long.
