Uconn to the B12 NOT looking likely

Big 12 doing everything they can to position themselves as number three and also winning the PR wars while the ACC seemingly sleeps

Doesn't matter reality, B12 winning in the media and PR stuff that drives opinions and shapes beliefs

Grabbing UConn doesn’t make them #3. Football still drives the bus. The ACC should make a run at the other PAC schools that joined the Big12 and just sink that conference.

Big 12 is going to try to sell their next rights deal in separate packages. That is why they aren't full football members until 2031. Can sell the basketball package with Yukon in it before then.

At least they have a Commissioner who wants to do things, and not someone asleep on the job.

That's where I was leaning

He is a persistent and every where and is trying everything to drum up his conference and confidence in them being number three

Why not football is an easy win for everyone and they might as well go to the Northeast after going west. Hopefully this stops them from winning more titles.

I'm happy we don't have to lose to them presently if we were in the same conference it would suck.

I know we don't like them but cmon, they're back to back national champs. They'll be fine as long as they have Hurley.
They didn’t start recruiting better until they moved back to the Big East. Eastern recruits will not want to play in the Big 12. Their parents want to see them play. They don’t even have a tv network.

I don't think so. What did they do in the last non eastern conference they were in? Nothing. As we found, it hurts recruiting to leave your area.

they *did* technically win a championship when they were in the AAC, and Ollie tanked big time

Hurley comes in, starts the rebuild, covid hits, they move back to the BE and turn it to a new level.

I think I’d argue more that the job was done by Hurley, and not the move to the BE, but that obviously helps too

They won a national championship while in the AAC

I'll give Hurley credit for it but they didn't have any national success until he hired Luke Murray. They were late JB years basketball wise until Murray showed up

They had some losing seasons as well. Just looked it up. They had not one, not two, but three straight losing seasons while in the AAC

I will say recruiting for the B12 is a much easier sell than recruiting for the AAC.

Every game is on tv. But they have to shell out some bucks for ESPN+ for a few games.

Most of the Boneyard dismissed this rumor but people besides Zanetto, the guy that apparently broke the story, are picking it up.

And Zanetto is doubling down on it. He says UConn has the votes.
