Brent posted this. I wonder if there's a thought that the assistants are at the ready if we start out terribly and JW has Bronco on speed dial

That is a bit of a surprise. I think Dino could be fired but he shouldn't be #1. GA Tech has a hard schedule this year. I think Collins gets fired. I can't see them getting to 5 Ws. FSU also has a hard schedule. I don't see Norvell surviving. So he should be ahead of Dino. Satterfield seems like the type who will do enough to be in that gray area. IMO he is more likely to be fired than Dino, but they probably should be even in the odds. The rest of the list is pretty safe.

I don’t agree with it, but I’m telling you right now

Dino is here in 2023 regardless of how this season goes, unless we lose to UCONN AND Wagner

Agree. I'm not stating my choice, but rather how I think it will go down**. Although I'd change the AND to an OR.

** unless Bronco sliding in has already been arranged.

Sure. But the perception is reality. If we start 1-3 going into Wagner, then what will the feeling on the board be?

We'll end up 2-3 and then it's NC State, Clemson, ND, Pitt, FSU. 2-8 is not a fairyland prediction.

I think people are wishful and it's good but JW has to be ready for the floor breaking and players deciding, "Eh, not worth it".

It's not exactly a hot take. Dino has had one good season in his six years here. People expect SU to finish at the bottom of the ACC yet again. So for an outsider looking in, which is what this book is, suggesting Dino is most likely to be a goner is pretty logical.

Obviously we all hope it doesn't come to that.

isnt he just posting the odds from some gambling site? and the headline says P5 schools yet only the ACC schools are on the list.. So its clearly a subset. It doesnt even clearly say most likely to get fired just within the ACC

Exactly. This stuff sells too. Coaching caroussel is like the mock drafts. Drives clicks. However it's born out of reality.

The way the schedule plays out, this isn't a momentum gathering set of games if we start out slow. This is probably the most important first game in a very long time

For the folks killing Brent here, this is what he said in the tweet: "Dino's seat is certainly warm but first coach fired? That's not happening. And you can't even get good odds on it."

It's a fact and Dino should be on the proverbial HOT seat at #1 due to his record...especially in the ACC. But I feel this '22 team is a different animal w/ most media outlets "Sleeping on the Cuse". Think the CUSE will finish 8 - 4 w/ a bowl bid and that will surely save Dino's HOT b u t t moving forward.

Dino's getting us back to a bowl and will have all the job security in the world as we ride into next season with momentum.

Agreed. Not difficult to envision that this season could springboard us to several seasons of bowls -- with Shrader / CDRW. Having a strong QB room makes ALL the difference in the world.

Oh trust me I don’t disagree

I actually felt he should have been fired after last season

However, I have it from pretty reputable sources that there is little to zero chance of him being fired
