Imagine actually defending drunk fans throwing stuff onto the field of play during a game to voice displeasure at a call
I'm not prone to be judgemental. Fans are entirely different at large state schools than smaller private schools, especially in the SEC. People like you should be all for cultural diversity.Imagine actually defending drunk fans throwing stuff onto the field of play during a game to voice displeasure at a call
I hope Lane got the ball so he can play it with his golf buds next time out. " I'm going to beat you guys with this ball that some hillbilly up at Rockytop hit me with after the Rebels went up there and beat the Vols".

Yeah, he could just bring it to the SEC coaches conference and show it around to Saban and Leach and Jimbo. They will all find it funny. He wouldn't want to lose it in the woods.
There is no excuse for it. There is no “cultural diversity to be had”. I live an hour from Gainesville, my family lives in tennesseee. At some point these idiots have to realize at the end of the day it’s just a sport and throwing stuff on the field when the call doesn’t go your way is wrongI'm not prone to be judgemental. What's interesting about that is that they just started selling alcohol at games within the last few years, if I remember correctly.Or stop selling alcohol for a game or two. But they won’t do that for the $ame rea$on.
Your hoping to convince rednecks to not act like rednecks? Oh boy. There is no excuse for it. There is no “cultural diversity to be had”. was it a titleist ?
Well, their own cheerleaders and marching band were getting hit with enough stuff that they left the field/stands.They were empty water bottles for crying out loud and 1 golf ball and 1 mustard "dispenser".
It’s long been a problem with concacaf soccer games. It’s sad , as upset as I get at SU games I never considered hurling things on the field.

And the soccer hooligans in Europe, now that's scary ship.I'm not defending them, but some of the comparisons don't hold water.
Nope, none of that …….bombs, gun fire, riots or attacking players have not happened involving US concacaf games , those things have happened accross the Soccer Spectrum throughout the planet , not just S.A. and concacaf. I guess you didn’t remember the death to disco riot , the Riot at the Palace in Auburn Hills, or other violent incidents that have happened, to think it can’t happen here is just not smart, Point being you want to squash it right away so it doesn’t escalate or be considered ok. England had a terrible problem with fighting and hooligans, Through planning they have almost completely eliminated the problem. You guys are comparing concacaf and S American soccer games, where there have been bombs, gun fire, riots and storming of the field attacking players to some rowdy fans throwing water bottles? C'mon, we ain't close to what caused Latin and South American teams putting up fence and armed soldiers around the field.
Holy crap. I never heard this story. I wonder if there’s an article somewhere about it. That’s wildHonk if you are old enough to remember the Temple game in the first year of the Dome.
The Temple players got into it with SU fans behind their bench and wound up throwing a bench into the stands. All kinds of objects were thrown onto the field. Temple coach Wayne Hardin pulled his team off the field but a couple of players climbed into the stands near the passageway to mix it up with people. Police had to try to break it up. I thought the game would be cancelled but eventually the Owls came back out so we could finish beating them 31-7.
I was at that game, I remember some conflict along the bench , I don’t remember any a Temple players entering the stands, I ll take SWC word for it , he is pretty reliable. Now Syracuse Blazer games in the old EHL… I think visitors were required to enter stands !!!!!Holy crap. I never heard this story. I wonder if there’s an article somewhere about it. That’s wild
Wow. It was October 11, 1980. What’s amazing looking at our schedule, we played Northwestern in the dome a week after the first game ever and only 34,000 people showed up. That is incredible to me. Can that even be correct? The second game ever in the stadium and you won the week before and everybody was already apathetic. My goodness.Honk if you are old enough to remember the Temple game in the first year of the Dome.

did you have to cough first ?They tried to take mine Friday, but I said, "those aren't golf balls, buddy!"
I wonder if anyone on his staff did him a sold and yelled “fore”!
Medwick later commented: "I knew why they threw the stuff, (various vegetables) at me. What I can't figure out is why they brought it to the ballpark in the first place."
Lane Kiffin must have had the same question about that golf ball.
How did we get 50,000 for Navy?Wow. It was October 11, 1980. I always wonder what the unlucky random fan who gets stuck as the photo with a headline like this thinks when they see themselves plastered across Twitter.
That lady is probably just some HR Rep for a Tractor Supply chain in Knoxville who’s now the face of anarchy.
Yeah…. It can’t happen here.
