Doesn't this look a whole lot like Greg Robinson. NFL defensive guru takes over a team, brings in a bunch of NFL guys with no college experience, doesn't have any recruiting relationships, and doesn't understand how to develop college players. Greg's big issue was he had no recruiting pipeline and then once he had players, they never got any better. In the NFL the players are self motivated and if they don't work hard, they go from making millions to being a gym teacher. We saw when Marrone took over and went all Junction Boys how it has to be done to build a winner. Bill had to find 70 players willing to buy into his hype and as yesterday indicated, it is a mess. Michael Lombardi is also a complete idiot and has no business being paid to run a football program. They luckily get Charlotte and Richmond the next two weeks. Might be down in the first half of one of those games.

Belichick lost me when he discarded brady and he went and won one in TB. Just a ridiculous move that I’m still not over.

I had concerns in 2019, 2020 and 2021 given some personnel and draft decisions, but I was Officially Concerned in the offseason heading into 2022 when he brought in the two-headed monster of suck, Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, to run the offense. It was an inexcusable decision in general, and even more so considering Mac Jones was heading into his 2nd season.

It's astonishing to me that I feel this way, but it was completely appropriate to fire him after the 2023 year, despite getting the franchise to NINE Super Bowls in 18 years. He simply couldn't have botched the post-Brady years more (and like you said, seemed eager to dump Brady for several years before he did).

His year out of work was an endless stream of petty grievances. I'm grateful for what he did in Foxboro, but I'll be happy to see him flop in Chapel Hill.
