To be great, you have to do the little things well ALL the time not just when things are going well. This team is so inconsistent and fundamentally challenged, despite having talent. It’s all on the coaching. What the hell does Gait do during the game? He’s totally not involved and just stands outside the huddle during any stoppage of play.

orange are down to #11 in RPI...
if they beat notre dame they will be safely in. if they lose, they are putting their fate in the hands of others...a bid steal in the big ten or ivy will likely end their season...army losing in the patriot league title game would also put them in jeopardy. basically...beat ND and you're feeling good. lose and you might need a change of underwear for selection sunday depending on what happens in some of these conference tournaments...

most years their resume wouldnt be good enough to get in...but this year it probably will be...there just arent any other teams whos going to take it from them. michigan? done. virginia? had a chance if they won today and won next week but now they're done. hop would have been in if they had just won a couple b1g games but...nope. done. the only chance the orange miss is if there is a bid steal...which is possible but not likely imo..

Wasn't able to watch past the 1st quarter so I won't comment on game specifics but I am curious where the team is mentally. I hate to be so pessimistic but at this point I'd probably bet my house that they're going to lose to ND and I foresee it being ugly. At that point even if they make the tournament I'm not sure they deserve it.

Not sure mentally where team is but one moment in game noticed something n commented to my wife bout it right after n in that comment said their going to lose. The moment was when leo scored his second goal which think made it either 7-5 or 9-7 maby. He came running to sideline jumping throwing his hands up trying to pump guys up. No one mean no one was getting hyped or even coming over to congrats or excited. Almost like they didn’t care or just excepted the lost already. Bench guys didn’t cheer or get hyped guys in box waiting to get on didn’t join in. Just totally no heart or enthusiasm.
Talent will get you only so far but without any heart or hustle it’s just wasted talented.

Down there’s no urgency to sub players on. There’s no pressing out on D or trying to take ball away. Refs were absolutely bad no doubt. But when that happens you gotta play even better n take it out of refs hands. Sadly think the offense is worst part. They just turn it over so much then D playing to much get tired. Just lazy passes or pass straight to other team. Also said it before think this team has a condition problem. They just seem to hustle for 5mins then trot for 55mins. English will say he goes hard. Does he make some poor plays and turnovers yes but dude is logging to many minutes in my mind. But will give it to him he goes balls to wall mostly.
I made us leave game after the spallina penalty. As i couldn’t take anymore. Couldn’t take how they were playing. Couldn’t take the refs. Couldn’t take gait standing there doing absolutely nothing showing zero emotions with his teams play or anything. Honestly i’d sit bunch of guys next game n let players who may give it their all more a chance. Dwan he should not be on all american or tar watch list. He has done absolutely nothing. Figgy is way better. Prob go to play ND get smoked n that should be the season. Which sadly can see guys jumping ship. Don’t think we have depth behind the top 6-7 guys on O. Just sad sad sad time for us cuse fans.

Sadly I have to agree with the Dwan sentiment. Clearly those that vote for those accolades haven’t been watching this season. He has struggled this year. I really think it started from game one. All of the talk about him scoring goals really screwed him. He was trying so hard to score early and it wasn’t working out for him. I think he forgot his first job is to cover/lock down his guy. Hoping he can have his best game next week because we need it.

The offense looked awful (minus the last 2 minutes), the defense wasn’t great but they fought, and McCool was All American good.
Spallina is overrated (he had 4 goals against Notre Dame, the best game of his SU career, but otherwise has 2 goals in the other 3 ACC games, is shooting 25%, and he CANNOT dodge), Rhoa shouldn‘t be playing on the 1st line (he’s shooting 7%! although it’s at least better than McCarthy’s 0%), and the offense should be going through Anderson and Hottle because, besides Hiltz (our true MVP), both of them are shooting 30% and they can both consistently dodge and win a 1v1 matchup. Otherwise, English’s turnovers are pretty bad (he has more turnovers then goals).
