UNC Practicing Against Zone Tonight

They should be worried. We are the better team. But as bad as UNC has been this year, they have played up, or down to their competition. They beat MSU, UK, and Louisville. Three teams better than anyone we have played. And psychology is underrated in sports. It's why many teams have team psychologists. I don't want a pissed and embarrassed UNC coming in here trying to atone for another needless loss.

You are right about one thing: we are the better team. I couldn't care less how pissed and embarrassed they are. We play to our capabilities, and it won't matter what their mindset is.

I believe in our team this year. We're on the verge of something special--I can feel it.

Mentally this team checked out when Hairston was $ hitcanned.

Villanova is better than the three you mentioned. Baylor beat uk on a neutral court.

Believing in out team has nothing to do with the point of my posts.

And I don't agree with the point of your posts. UNC is losing games because they aren't very good. Desperation or no, I'm not worried. No matter how desperate they are for a win, they still have to play the game for 40 minutes. Even if they come out with an initial flurry, we'll weather that storm because our team is experienced and poised. And I doubt we'll fall into that trap. Our team is better, our focus is better, and the intangibles [playing at home, confidence, matchups, etc.] are in our favor.

And then of course, you have the Uncle Roy factor.

Your opinion. I'll take the 3 even though Nova can play with any of them. Baylor was an upset, it happens.

That's the problem with playing in this league. It's always 5 v 8.

Yet they beat MSU, UK and Ville while losing to garbage teams. And you keep arguing we are better. No kidding. Point isn't who is better. It's which UNC team do I prefer to play.

UNC is an enigma. MSU is as good as just about anybody; UK and Ville turns out were overrated as a function of preseason prognostications.

Hand wringing be damned--bring 'em on. If we're going to win the league, this is the type of game you absolutely have to win at home. I like our chances.

I like out chances too and feel we win. But you miss the point. It's not who is better, it's which UNC would I prefer to play because psychology plays a role.

I don't miss the point. I think you are overstating said point.

The players will determine the outcome of the game--not cosmic kismet. UNC winning tonight wouldn't make them more susceptible to losing on Saturday--that's absurd. Just like them actually losing tonight won't affect Saturday's game in a demonstrably impactful way. They might come out more desperate, but that won't enhance their chances of winning.

If we play our usually good defense we will win by 15. Carolina with Paige right now reminds me of us with gmac in 2006. One guy trying to carry a bunch of underachievers.

Maybe Yogi can help you explain your post:

“90% of the game is half mental.”

I'm not sure Royboy and his team of shrinks can put UNC back together in this quick turnaround. Although with his players's reading skills maybe he pulls out a little Thomas the train engine on the ride up. I hear it's highly motivational.

Vegas agrees they just slapped a bakers dozen on Cuse.

I don't know. Having watched enough sports over the years Ive seen plenty of times when what bees said might be the case ended up being the case. It goes both ways though, having your confidence hurt can also hurt your performance. Then there is the aspect of how the Cuse players may inwardly feel about UNC, regardless of what JB tells them. Thinking and feeling are the beginning of life.

I like the opportunity to move them 3 games behind us in the ACC standings - can't wait for the game on Saturday.

Calling it cosmic kismet says you don't get it.

Did you know SU has a team psychologist? Some of your grossly underrate the mood of a team. Hope everyone that is guaranteeing a win is right.
