USC and UCLA to the Big Ten

maybe they have asked ND if adding these schools changes there opinion and they said nah we good at status quo
Or perhaps they are offering the South Benders Stanford as the next acquisition if ND accepts and Ducks/UW if they don’t

i have not read all the threads, but my feeling is the next move is clemson and florida state to sec

The ACC is in a catch22. On the one hand the long term espn deal/GOR gives security for a few more years, unlike the Big12/PAC. OTOH, the long term espn deal/contract pays out peanuts compared to the Big2, and is getting left further and further as those guys get their payout into the Billions.
You can’t blame anyone for looking for life rafts in this environment. The ACC’s only hope is to reach out to Obi Wan Kenobi…, I mean Notre Dame, and hope they agree to come in full time, and that espn also agrees to renegotiate the contract to bring it within shouting distance of the Big2. I think that’s a long shot- ND is, was, and always will be, about themselves and no one else.
The new reality is the ACC is likely, maybe 65% or so likely, to get left behind. As SU fans, it might be time to start getting used to that idea. JMHO

The ND decision is supposed to imminent so I think that will be next

I’d like to think they are thinking hard about doing the right thing via partners who’ve bailed them out during hard times, but I think they are probably busy sharpening the shiv for the ACC
Is this even a one or the other? My guess is that they have laughed themselves into hernias over conning yet another conference into giving a home to their non-football sports. Now they have to wait for the hernia surgeries to heal before they sign the B10 contract.

I guess this makes the BE brass smarter than the ACC brass because the latter should have seen it coming. You can carry the cute cheerleader’s books for her but she is never going to go to the prom with you (I cleaned up the metaphor in advanced because I have never been banned and don’t intend to over the likes of ND)

- hating ND since the 1961 game

The ACC isn't getting left behind even if they are clear cut #3.

The ACC was the 5th best conference last year maybe 6th the AAC was actually better. The 2 conferences inbetween us and the SEC and Big Ten are on the chopping block. Not us. Its not a bad thing for the ACC at all. We are the ones who get to scoop up whats left after this shakes out and its not the end of the world if we lose a team.

It makes no sense to have 30 team conferences that is too many mouths to feed and teams will never see each other. The gap between us and the SEC and Big Ten was already huge and it didn't get much bigger. No longer having ND to take advantage of us is no loss nice game on the schedule but why prop them up they should have put their hoops in the NBE anyways. We also get them at home this year before they cancel all the future games.

I don’t hate ND- everyone would be doing the same thing if they had their catchet. Power to ‘em.
In 2O13 I was a wreck trying to figure out where SU would fit in this brand new world, where we would go/end up, etc. Today I find myself oddly at peace with the whole thing. Im getting that familiar resigned feeling I had when I first decided to withdraw from baseball. I still love my Mets, but stopped watching or caring about MLB. That’s how I’m starting to feel about college sports.
Slowly but surely, they’re smothering the fan out of me. I’ll always love all-things SU, but I’m afraid I’m falling out of love w/ college sports. And i don’t like the feeling.

We will be ok. Remember. We only have to compete against our own conference. Our conference champ will be in the playoffs.
Rutgers, Vandy, MO, Mississippi, Mississippi state ect
.. will never make it. We dont need enough money to compete with Texas or UCLA.
Just enough to compete against our own conference.

Oh I totally agree. Their job is to do what is best for them. No problem with that. I have always disliked ND football for a handful of other reasons

When I say “hate” I mean in a sports sense. I was probably treated better in South Bend as an opposing fan than I have been at almost any other game I have ever attended. I certainly have no ill will towards the university.

If they leave for the money its kinda hypocritical as they have always said it won't be about the money if they lose independence though

You guys are funny. Texas, Oklahoma, USC, UCLA, Oregon...even Syracuse, BC, Pitt...all changed conferences for more money and better status, but they all get a pass?

Its all cool and good, just smart business, but if ND does it the Irish are singled out as "whoring"?

Ironic.
I’m ok with ND being as greedy and dirty as everyone else, just somebody should inform their delusional , holier then thou fans, at least the many insufferable ones I know.

I think ND joins the BIG if they can add Stanford and choose their pod of 5 with USC UCLA STANFORD and N’WESTERN

If it's a pod of 5, who are teams 19 & 20?
Oregon and Washington would be my guess, other option is 2 from the acc or California to pair with Stanford? Or the bigten is content at 18 and 3 divisions of 6

I think a lot of what happens next depends on if the B1G will agree to take Wash. St. and Oregon State.

Im doubted the Bigten is going to forced to take the ugly step children

This was in that Twitter brand rankings thread..View attachment 218107
How do they calculate this? It's hard to believe we're ahead of any big time state school. Their alumni bases are so much bigger and they often own their whole state, unless sharing it with another big time state school.

Subway alumni. We are The Ottoman Empire!!!

Oregon and Washington

BIG adds ND Stanford Oregon Washington. Then SEC counters with Arizona ASU Colorado Oklahoma St/Kansas
I'm surprised the Big isn't tapping the ACC. Rumor has it the GOR is a nothing burger. I would expect we would see teams jumping to the SEC and Big this summer. ;) (Watch that actually happen and ruin my sarcasm).

So, which one takes Otis Sistrunk's alma mater, the University of Mars? :p

No way they agree to that - BIG has all the power

This is the biggest threat for Syracuse- an ACC collapse with the majority going to SEC/BIG would destroy Cuse.

If the ACC can hold steady, they could form a fantastic conference. The only conference with 3 FL schools

ACC Atlantic
Boston College
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
West Virginia
Miami

Cincinnati
Louisville
UCF
Baylor
Houston

ACC Coastal
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Kansas
North Carolina
NC State

Duke
Wake Forest
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Florida St
