USF on CBS Sports Network

An iPad at 10 inches is a 70 inch tv with better resolution. If your feed is bad, yeah they are comparable.

Ok but it's tricky for my family to all gather around the iPad to watch a game.

I'm a techie but gigantic HD TVs are a fantastic viewing experience.

I hate watching games on an ipad.
Me too. And yet, there I was on nycfan's porch down the shore, watching on his iPad and having an adult beverage (or 6) on the last real weekend of summer watching us pound URI. The things we do for our team...

but that is acceptable ipad watching.

the vacation/travel rule.

The difference with a 70-inch TV and an iPad is that you don't have to hold the 70-inch TV in front of your face to watch it, or bend at the waist while sitting to watch it on a coffee table. Plus, you don't have to sit extra close to your friends/family while sprawled out across your living room watching a day of college football. That said, the ipad/iphone has really given everyone a better experience in watching games at work, which is very important, too.

I still prefer to watch any game on a tv as opposed to an ipad or phone. just not a fan of it

remember all those places you were as a kid and you hated to be there because there was no tv and were stuck doing something your family wanted you to do because 'we always do what you want, now we are doing something for your sister??...its for those places.

and the tranportation to and from there.

throw in work if you dont have a tv that can be turned off cnbc, vacation...and thats it.

no reason to watch on an ipad unless you have serious social problems and/or are severely nearsighted.

I hear ya partner. Especially #1. Godamn if that wasnt my house to a T growing up.

I was referring to the people that say "how can you pay for cable when you can basically just use your phone or computer"

FS1 and NBCSN are definitely bigger than CBSSN mainly because NBCSN has the NHL Contract and Fox has the MLB contract. CBS does not have any of the Big 4 contracts and is not available on the DirecTV package my dad has either and he has all the other sports channels or have an app you can watch on like ESPN, Fox, and NBC have.

Also I am confused with everyone saying you can only watch ESPN3 on an Ipad. I watch Cuse on my 50 inch TV in HD every week, Including last weeks game on the WatchESPN app. Other than being 30 seconds behind, which was a nuisance when my dad called bitching about Murphy missing a chip shot while I was watching it live, I didn't have any problems. While for USF I am still trying to think of a way to watch the game.

There's still time to head to Tampa to watch Dungey's magic in person. ;)

This thread forced me to look at my Fios invoice - the channels are cheap, the equipment and taxes not so much...

I am gonna put it up on the projector and 120 in screen in my garage, hook up the surround and rock out at 3:30 on gameday. Inviting the tailgate crew over to tailgate and watch the game. Can't wait, 2 weeks is a long time.

I hear ya, renting multiple boxes is 1/2 the bill, but the crazy thing is...I think you get every single channel under the sun, but not in HD.

It's HD where they get all funky with the $$.

Maybe not, I just look to the chart farthest on the right and go fine. Ask the mrs if we can include Playboy? she says no...and we order.

Suped-up cable is why I work.

Agreed. But for a single person the math/science of it is indisputable.

Plus head phones? Great audio to boot.

You're insane man. I get the watching with other people, but If you're watching by yourself?

The picture is roughly 4x better. With good headphones, the audio is better than anything else you can buy (though I do love a good sub woofer). And it has no cord.

I love it because I lack a man cave and a giant communal tv means I watch the game with a 6 and 3 year old begging me to play video games every few minutes.

And I have cable and watch games on my 40 inch tv sometimes - but I have no problem switching to the iPad if needed.

No game watching party at your place! ;)

Sadly - not often. I live in Cincinnatus (middle of nowhere) and have young kids. We don't get to many games (kids) anymore - but I'm priming the family for when the 3 year old can sit still for more than 5 minutes at a time.

We have a big super bowl party - but regular games are a hard sell for the wife.

Absolutely. iPad viewing has it's place just should never be top dog. Never.

This day in age there is tv access for every game out there. I bet I have watched 125 cubs games this year 80 of them in an hour the next day.

I give up.

Everyone has clearly loaded up on their stoopid pills today.
Oh Lord
Look in the mirror man. You said it was on the sports package. I responded and said it isn't part of the sports package on DirecTV. Sometimes you're funny, sometimes you're a bit of a moron. Hitting up the latter today. And by the way, I'm not angry about having to change the regular TV channel tier on DirecTV. It's a move up from Entertainment to Choice and I'll get CBSSN. It's a click of a button on the website and I get it.

But, and I repeat, it is not included with the extra sports package that you can buy into with DirecTV. It's an entirely different tier of channels that come with a bunch of BS Latino programming and movie channels that show movies. So yah, I'll add it for the weekend, and drop it on Monday because I have no use for CBSSN the other 364 days of the year.

What??

I never spoke about Direct TV and 'packages' of any type.

I will dumb down what I said for you...

If your cable or whatever, has CBS, then it 'offers' CBSSN.

Wether or not you or anyone is too cheap to pay for it, is not my problem.

It's offered, thats all i meant.

People here bitch like little girls that some game is only on some channels that their cable does not offer.

This is not the case.

So you and everyone in the United States of America who pay for some type of cable...now stay with me here...'have' it.

Ridiculous.

You should be ashamed.

Was at the CMU game that's all unfortunately. Work is killing me. I'll hopefully be @ Virginia and home vs Pitt
Canadian if you are at Pitt, I will be there. Be nice to meet. My son is back in Toronto for now. We shall see. Either staying there or back to his old job in NY. Actually I will probably be flying up there after the Pitt game on Sunday.

Just because people spend all the money on a dish and DONT BOTHER to get the sports packages that the dish was basically invented for, is not my problem.

YOUR WORDS. You get dish and not the sports package you're a dumb a$$. What I was saying is it is not PART OF THE SPORTS PACKAGE FOR DIRECTV. It is a completely different tier that is an extra 25 bucks a month ON TOP OF THE SPORTS PACKAGE.

Not sure why I have to dumb this down for you chief. You said something, the premise was incorrect. A couple of us mentioned that, you act like an idiot.

To be clear, your assertion was incorrect. Your point does stand though. If you're willing to pay for it you can get it. I'm willing to pay for it, so I have no problem. I was just letting you know that your premise with at least one dish provider was incorrect.

It's tough having to deal with those less capable in situations like this. I'll give you a pass this time though.

Semantics.

I'm right.

You're wrong.

You 'have' it.
