UVA Attendance

They will, they showed up in the latter part of 2018 and they showed up in the beginning of 2019. Our overall fan base is like an abused dog. The casuals have been let down so many times that they have to slowly start getting used to the whole idea that they can’t scream about firing the coach and actually should support the program. I said man what a good game to a guy while walking off the bus . His immediate words were yea for cuse FOOTBALL. That’s still the perception and that will only be solved with winning and time. Also the stupid number next to your name does a good amount of work.
Some time ago, Onondaga County commissioned a study to try to determine the biggest obstacles to economic development the region faced. The single biggest reason was the defeatist/negative attitude of the people of CNY.
As I put it, the CNY attitude is this: "That won't work, and if does work, it won't work here."

I honestly think we will get the 42 43 for NC State. Just don’t see how we sell that many tickets by Friday . The way things have been going. The community seems pumped up about this team, but not enough to get off the couch.

Its really simple.

Without robust marketing this is the equation -

More wins = more people

More wins + better marketing = sellout

Gotta get on it. No excuses, we just got a brand new upgrade to the dome with a big rebranding.

Do your jobs SU

A lot of it depends on how many fans the visiting team brings, and I can’t imagine UVA will have more than a few hundred fans there. I see a high 30s crowd tops. But if we start 5-0, I could see a much larger crowd for NC State.

One thing is for sure. The student section will be over flowing. The University should take some notes on the Otto’s Army organization and hire them. They are insane. Yesterday they gave everyone in the lower sections a free t-shirt. It’s called marketing.

They gave a grad an internship or something in the AD office.

I think it will still be in the 30s, but really loud.

Win it, then get Wagner out of the way, and do a major marketing push for the first 5-0 in 35 years during the 2 weeks leading up to NC State.

How NC State does Clemson and FSU during those two weeks will also impact attendance. They could be beat up.

Bingo.

One thing I reallllly wish they did during the renovation was swap the camera booth to the away side. The Dome would look a ton better on TV if the shot was of the home/student side. They could have just flipped the turf so the writing was legible to that side as well.

College football has become a made for TV event, we should really broadcast it that way.
sounds expensive

I was hoping Purdue would have traveled better.. Big B10 school that has never been to NY since 95% of thefan base was alive.. But they didnt bring all that many.
I thought they brought a lot. Definitely heard the noise when they scored.

Anything over 35k is pretty respectable (and will be loud). Friday nights are tougher for out of towners and with locals you are competing with high school sports. Last year, this same game against Liberty had an announced of under 30k, and three weeks later for Clemson the announced was under 37k.

Win the next two and attendance will be well over 40k for NC State (Family weekend; couldn't book with points at any local Marriotts) and Notre Dame. FSU will be more dependent on what out record looks like.

Every year for Family Weekend you really need to book as soon as SU announces the weekend. Stay away from the normal go to restaurants too.

Friday night with 35k is louder than a Saturday noon with 40k. It’s not about the bodies in the seats, it’s about the BAC% of the bodies in the seats.

Might be a sad commentary but it’s a fact. That’s why this Friday will be crazy loud regardless of what number we hit attendance wise.

Purdue had more than 200 people there. Not a great showing but id say probably 500 or so. I saw purdue people walking around all over the hill.
500 oh yea, sorry, they took over the dome , my bad.

We need them beat up because we’re also getting beat up.

Nobody said they did. Im just saying I saw plenty of black and gold around.

Doubt UVA travels so we gotta gear up for Rutgers South after the bye. I’ll be damned to see a red crowd in the dome. Only thing worse than gold.

lots of teams have people all over the dome.. teams that travel have people in the visitor section..

I remember Mich St , Ohio St. and Michigan. They brought 5 to 7 k . Purdue had maybe 250 to 350 in their section and yes you did see scattered Purdue shirts throughout the crowd.

Purdue had more fans there than a team like UConn ever brought to the Dome.

We should see a bump Friday night. But you’re still competing with a lot of local families Friday Night High School games and it’s tougher to travel greater distances on a workday for out of towners.

Night games have a completely different energy. It will be loud. I’m gonna say 39k announced and a really solid atmosphere.

Prices are already dropped on TM.

Solid seats in 319 on the 50 below $50

Invite your friends, family, colleagues. I don’t care. It’s time to be die hards and hype men/women again.
