Labor Day usually sucks anyway for FB games. Better chance I go Friday instead Saturday. This works much better into my plans

SU tends to think that every SU fans lives within 2 hours of the campus. That type of thinking is one of the reasons they draw poorly for football. Football is more of an event with pregame tailgating, and some fans actually live further away that Binghamton.

Agreed. I like it. In the grand scheme of things it's probably a net zero impact: sucks for some both ways / no difference to most.
It's a holiday weekend so I'm already going to be taking a half day Friday, now I get to go to Middle Ages and tailgate before a home opener.
Plus, I can head to camp after and have all three days there.
Can't wait for the season to start, I just want football and it doesn't matter what day it is.

LOL. You know me I will definitely be there. First Fine Lot tailgate of the year. Fingers crossed SU gives us an 8pm start which would be great as the first tailgate is always a blast.

step back from what? I'm saying that Jeremy whines and complains a lot and his post to me seemed like he was trying to speak on a lot of the fan base. No matter if game is Friday or Saturday I'll be there... That's what I typedrrlbees said:
works out better for me.. almost all our HS fball games are sat.. soccer probably works out better as well for most unless you have a place that plays under the lights.. its before school starts so most games that week are early.
for all the talk of people traveling, if you are traveling why does it matter what day its on.. if you are camping it works out better you could go to the game and still go camp sat morning and get 2 full days in. most people have picnics during the weekend not 7pm friday. it will help attendance and TV may be a wash but who knows.. the fair might be a wash as well but it depends somewhat on the music that night.
for the people i know who go its much more likely they get out of work early on friday and go, than they would take the last big weekend before school and go..
why are people so caught up on what the tailgating does. less than 10% of the people at the game actually do any and it may be less than that. and didnt they show the stats once on where people come from, a very small number come from outside 2 hrs on a regular basis.
