Yup Fran and Vince want him here. Good chance it happens. A couple other schools and Candle at UConn want him too. We are willing to give him some good money too. He’s a GREAT coach and recruiter. He’ll be worth every penny. 90% chance he ends up here. Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s announced by Thamel or whoever in the next day or two. We want the DL coach from Toledo too. I expect us to get a few players in the portal on the defensive side from Toledo too. Specifically secondary and D-line

This video had good things to say about Kehres. But like so many of these young "YouTube" college football commentators, he's a total tool who has no historical perspective. "Hard to win there" he says regarding Toledo.

Nebraska's record since 2012 (their last ten win season): 85-86
Toledo's record in the same time frame: 113-59 (3 ten win seasons, 9 seasons of 8+ wins) Nebraska has less than half (4) 8+ win seasons.

Toledo has excellent resources relative to their competition (MAC). Are they going head-to-head with a B1G school, no.

I am not saying it is Woody and Bo, but this James Franklin/Fran dynamic (rivalry is a bit strong) is going to be one to watch in the coming years. It was already beginning to rear its head when Franklin was at Ped State, but now in the same conference on more equal footing?

Franklin tried to poach, it appears, some of our (then) verbals from the Commonwealth, and he succeeded in his enticement of Grant. But 2-3 days later, Fran counter punches with Vince, who may bring more (coaches & players) with him. Early edge to Fran?

Toledo has 44 guys from OH/MI/IL/Ind on offense and 32 on Def. He probably has some pretty good hooks into the area and now can get that next level kid hopefully who wouldnt quite pull the trigger on a Toledo but might on a P4.

We’re playing like we got SEC / B1G $. I know Fran is a charismatic guy and I know we have had donors stepping up, but there is no way we aren’t getting 3rd party help here.

Not sure where, but when I see us doing things like signing a rapper with no game, and leveraging agent relationships, it tells me there much more going on that we don’t see.

Fran is playing to win. He ain’t going 3-9 next year.

Total guesstimate on my part, but with Vince's Mount Union background, I have to think Syracuse football will become one of the top 5-10 developmental programs in CFB in the coming 3-5 seasons. We'll be good/solid/strong with recruiting, that'll take care of itself thanks to Fran.

But the defense, especially the defense, will feature guys coming in and outperforming their "rankings," especially if they hang out until junior and senior seasons.

In think that is way more important comparted to what defense we feature (4-2-5 or 3-3-5) or what a DC calls on 3rd & 5 in the middle of the third quarter of a tied game (we fans way, way overrate that crap and base it on results only). Let's get our players to play a dash more disciplined, ... and not only respect their assignments, but execute properly on them.

That’s kind of the fun mystery of following Syracuse being a private school. You really don’t know the resource pool exactly because they don’t have to report it, but you can basically tell by the moves on staff and players that your getting that the resources are improving. If we were out of the ballpark, we would have no chance.

As long as we don’t hear rumors of a major excavation and unplanned detonations under the new football wing I think the resources are legitimate.
