Not talking about a new system. The current playbook is full of different plays and he didn't do a very good job of picking plays to install for each game and didn't do much better play calling during the game. I would prefer that we didn't have an OJT OC. It will take years for Lester to become just an average P5 OC. We are not that strong a program that we can afford OJT at one of the thee top positions.
Lester isn't the answer. I think that demoting McD and promoting Lester was 1. to show the fans that the higher ups understood that the results weren't good enough and that something had to be done, and 2. because nobody else could have realistically taken the position. I expect a change this off season. Otherwise, I will be beyond disappointed.
Shafer has already said that Lester is the OC "going forward." Done deal.
I guess I missed that. What does "going forward" mean? Is it "going forward" into the BC game (i.e. end of this year), or "going forward" into next season?
