We Are GRob Bad

who are you going to get at offensive coordinator? Everyone keeps calling for change here, but who can we get with no money. Look as Muschamp at Florida, 3 offensive coordinators including Charlie Weiss……and it still didn't help!

The OC at Yale or Harvard. I bet we could get them.

Scott Shafer is not a smart guy. We need smart. This is not asking for much. Next year is a perfect time to have a new coach come in a rebuild.

I've said it from day 1, Shafer is NOT a HC. Never was & never will be. Very good DC & that's it. Syracuse will probably give him another year, but it's only delaying the inevitable. We are now back to the Grob years as far as the Program is concerned. Whatever progress we made getting back to respectability is now gone. Get rid of Gross too. When Marrone left, the Program was at a pivotal stage. We have now regressed & it could take another 5-10 years to fix. Hate to sound so negative, but it is what it is!

with the amount of injuries no head coach should get fired off this year.
I agree with you but are the number of injuries, which continued today, coincidence or the result of a mistake in S&C planning and/or tactics? Because that would be a big mistake.

I honestly just have to laugh at it.

And again...this is how you keep the casual fans away. Although, I doubt they were even watching today (admittedly I haven't watched more than a snap).

It's.not.that.hard.

The thing is, though, he is very smart. I just think he's the only one working. I think he's trying to carry the entire show.

New AD, new coach. Enough.

TGD got courtside seats for a long time. He came to Su to "fix" football. Hired a bust, got his hand forced for #2 (heck knows what happened there) now this.

Yep, but he gets a pass because he spent at the top percentile for his olympic sports, and now they are producing. Smart move by him.

please just stop with the injuries. we had our whole offensive line back today. we were missing 2 receivers who have never scored a touchdown. enough is enough with the injuries. every team we have played have been missing key players.

I don't get this line of thinking that Shafer gets another year? WHY? He is an awful head coach. Just like everyone gave Shafer credit for realizing his mistake and firing McDonald early we need to do the same thing and fire Shafer early.

Well for one we won't pay for a HC, so we sure the hell won't pay his buyout.

I call BS on that. Injuries are an excuse. EVERY team has injuries. But at well run programs with competent coaches on staff, they still manage to field competitive/winning teams. The level of incompetence regularly displayed by Shafer and staff simply can't be written off with the "injury excuse." This coach and his staff are simply NOT P5 material. Shafer=Grob 2.0

I've said this before:

Both of these are possible--
Bad coach with few injuries
Bad coach with many injuries

*shrugs*

Don't wanna blame it on Shafer but don't wanna blame it on injuries either but when you have your 3rd, 4th string guys going out there and telling them to compete it's not realistic. Yeah I'm mad I want to win just like everyone else but I think we turn it around in a big way next year, mark my words.

Spot on. Shafer ain't the guy. They probably won't but if they want to compete in the ACC, SU needs to move on.

This staff has been undressed since the 'Nova game, and this has continued right up to punting from the 50 with less than a yard, down 23. The injuries only serve to camouflage what now seems to be an inescapable reality. And for those who think they are tearing it up on the recruiting trail, we are currently ranked dead last in the ACC on some sites.

I wouldn't find it hard to believe that the ONLY reason SS will be back next year is because SU will not buy out his contract.
