Do not agree. We've been beaten down so long that our tolerance for excuses is too high.Yes, but the leash is very short.
We're not quite as talent deficient as we were under GRob.
who are you going to get at offensive coordinator? Everyone keeps calling for change here, but who can we get with no money. Look as Muschamp at Florida, 3 offensive coordinators including Charlie Weiss……and it still didn't help!
Shaf. is relying on his defense to win this thing!Punt?

I agree with you but are the number of injuries, which continued today, coincidence or the result of a mistake in S&C planning and/or tactics? Because that would be a big mistake.with the amount of injuries no head coach should get fired off this year.
To be fair, who else could he have hired? Marrone left at the last minute and took everyone w himWhen you hire your Division 3 buddies...
The thing is, though, he is very smart. I just think he's the only one working. I think he's trying to carry the entire show.Scott Shafer is not a smart guy. We need smart. This is not asking for much. Next year is a perfect time to have a new coach come in a rebuild.
New AD, new coach. Enough.
TGD got courtside seats for a long time. He came to Su to "fix" football. Hired a bust, got his hand forced for #2 (heck knows what happened there) now this.

I don't get this line of thinking that Shafer gets another year? WHY? He is an awful head coach.
I call BS on that. Injuries are an excuse. EVERY team has injuries. But at well run programs with competent coaches on staff, they still manage to field competitive/winning teams. The level of incompetence regularly displayed by Shafer and staff simply can't be written off with the "injury excuse." This coach and his staff are simply NOT P5 material. Shafer=Grob 2.0with the amount of injuries no head coach should get fired off this year.
Spot on. Shafer ain't the guy. They probably won't but if they want to compete in the ACC, SU needs to move on.I've said it from day 1, Shafer is NOT a HC. Never was & never will be. Very good DC & that's it. Syracuse will probably give him another year, but it's only delaying the inevitable. We are now back to the Grob years as far as the Program is concerned. Whatever progress we made getting back to respectability is now gone. Get rid of Gross too. When Marrone left, the Program was at a pivotal stage. We have now regressed & it could take another 5-10 years to fix. Hate to sound so negative, but it is what it is!
