There is possibility that Bear plays end vs DT and is reshaping his body for that.

Tisdale was 343 last year and Tommy was 223. Should add needed quickness in both places.

Aside from Tebow years ago, college QBs built like linebackers don't usually work out. Tommy almost looked too strong for QB and might have affected his touch and throwing motion.

I really don't understand Bear going from 291 to 270. I don't doubt his ability to play DE but where does that leave the team at DT? Harper starting with Darton backing him up at 5'-11" 278 lbs? We have very little depth there and that doesn't seem to make any sense to me. I have to assume they keep him at DT and want him shooting gaps even more. Maybe with the additional spring practice and everyone understanding the D more they are planning being more aggressive and attacking a lot more and less worried about his size???

If Mang can catch the ball at 6-7 and 264, he could be great in short yardage, red zone, and across the middle.

Or maybe...the numbers are incorrect.

Edit: IIRC, players aren't measured i.e height, weight, speed/agility etc, until fall practice. This might explain the copy/paste look of this year's roster to last year's.

I appreciate them using the returning players eligibility with the extra covid year rather than their actual years in school. Like Devito still being listed as R-Jr or Mikel Jones still as a So.

Some other schools haven’t done that bad and it makes it pretty damn confusing haha

Ditto. Have to assume / believe the coaching staff will continue to beat the brush for portal / grad transfer options to bolster things inside.

I don't know anything about anything, just thinking out loud. Took a long time for Bear to commit to returning though and maybe that was part of it? Maybe wants to try and rack stats and get a shot at the league?

Harper can play, Black can play DT if needed, Lockett will be heavier by fall, and MAYBE we're not done adding transfers.

agree with everyone weights are wrong. Morris sent out a picture that he was bigger than what’s stated. If weights were correct bleich lost over 30 pounds. Not sure why it’s a good idea for guards to play around 300. Prefer 330 plus. C around 315 and t around 310.

I do think we are still going after another couple of players in the portal. At least one DT. Staff needed to evaluate before deciding where there is need.
