Mt. Pleasant, MI...north of Lansing. This is where I hold out my hand (in true Michiganer fashion) and tell you Mt. Pleasant is approximately the lower knuckle on my mddle finger.
I know the Knapps are stoked.
I just might make it to the game.
Good for the Kanpps and the Thompsons too.
Google Maps says the CMU football stadium is about 521 miles from the Syracuse metro area. That is right about the same distance as Charlottesville (500 miles) and a little less than Blacksburg (576 miles). Certainly drivable.
The best way to go is through Canada. If you go that way, and you are a golfer, I recommend that you take a small detour off 401 near London Ontario and play a round at Forest City National Golf Course.
Terrific course I played with my crew in 2004 on the way to the Ryder Cup at Oakland Hills. Only bad thing I can say about the place is that the staff was all, and I mean all, actively rooting for Europe, and didn't have any problems showing we Americans how they felt about it.
That was the day the music died. For me. For Canada. Great country, love the people there but I eye those Canadians warily now.
Trust but verify.

He has been.Frazier must have been sitting on this for a month.
Honestly, I hope the ND game tickets are offered to all SU fans/season ticket holders before being put up for sale. Considering ND fans are locust who will fill that building up I will buy extra ND tickets if they are given to SU season ticket holders and sell them to ND fans at a higher price and help subsidize the SU AD office with ND money I get. That ND Metlife game is suppose to be an SU home game and if SU fans aren't given the first opportunity to purchase them then it will be another ding on Dr. Doctor for selling out the game to Metlife and creating a neutral/road game for a so called home game.
He has been.
I talked to him last Friday.
I believe that I convinced him to have the schedule announced ASAP.
I mean, why else do it now instead of March?

In 2009, during Doug Marrone's first year as coach we played 8 home games.
home- Minnesota, Northwestern, Maine, Akron, West Virginia, South Florida, Cincinnati, Rutgers,
away-Penn State, Pitt, Louisville, UConn
Playing 7 home games a year should be easy now with 4 conference home games each year, and as soon as we get rid of the Metlife games playing 8 home games is possible if we played all cream puffs. If the ACC goes to 9 games then 8 home games is gone, but we should be playing 7 home games a year, and killing the Metlife games yesterday.
Says who? Dr. Gross now has ACC money versus Big East money. I am sure their is an opt-out clause for the Metlife series on both sides depending on certain factors. Dr. Gross knows that a clear decent sized percentage of his fanbase hates this arrangement I won't call it a majority because I don't have the polling numbers, but he knows its not liked. If the Metlife games aren't going away why have no games their been announced except the 2 ND games that were announced before the ACC move and Dr. Gross admitted to me he didn't like them but had no leverage. I don;t get how you can say this with a certainty. If we start scheduling more Metlife/away deals I will consider jettisoning my season tickets and I only go 2 games a year anyway. If fans don't vent their frustration with the AD office the status quo continues and the status quo of Metlife games is dumb in my opinion when the Carrier Dome is our homefield.Get used to the MetLife games - they aren't going away.

Unconfirmed rumor on Nunes says that Ron Thompson was promised a game in Michigan if he were to commit to SU. No way to know if that is true or BS.
I get we want the Dome to be filled, and I get you don't have a dog in the fight, but moving appealing home games 250 miles away and then wanting your fanbase to fillup the Dome for Wagner, Tulane, Wake Forest's of the world makes no sense.I obviously don't know for sure it is my opinion. When the Dome get filled then there will be a strong argument but until then, the NYC leverage will win the argument. I don't have a dog in this fight.
I'd have figured they'd go after Eastern then. Central is in west bumble.
I was afraid to look at exactly where Central Michigan was located.wouldn't that be Central Bumble?
They cant scrap that Metlife contract fast enough. The first year was a fun and even this past years was a good time but the attendance hasnt been great, we havent won either game and the novelty is starting to wear off. Next years attendance could be particularly bad from an SU standpoint as I think a lot of locals are starting to question spending $500 to A 1G for a weekend on a game that should be played at home.

I have no problem playing an occasional neutral site game at Metlife every 3-5 years for TV, recruiting, and when we have a good team. However, these Metlife games make our program look small time when Washington State is only other team from a BCS conference doing this crap. Either play the games at the Dome or don't play the teams away/Metlife. I don't see a problem playing Indiana, Maryland, Kansas at the Dome instead of Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame or Penn State at their place and Metlife.
We could form the orange biker gang , kind of like the the Volunteer Navy in KnoxvilleI was afraid to look at exactly where Central Michigan was located.
My worst fear was that it was on Mackinac Island and we would have to ride bikes to go to the game.
Couldn't agree more. I enjoyed the atmosphere at MetLife the past two years, but the novelty certainly has worn off. I can no longer justify a 5 hour drive into the armpit of New Jersey to watch a "home game" that puts us at a distinct advantage as it relates to the ratio of SU fans to opposing team fans. I can easily guesstimate that the ratio of ND fans to SU fans could be 4 or 5 (or more) to 1 . So much for home field advantage!

SU should announce right now that first crack at those tickets will be to SU season ticket holders. Nd fans will go nuts buying SU $100 season tickets, and SU will make an easy extra $100,000.
Only 13,000 SU fans vs 65,000 ND fans?
