They are a big deal. What do you want him to do about it? It was a big deal a week ago he said they were going to work on it, clearly they just suck. As for the overtime play, it looked like the call was for a George drive as they cleared the lane but the defender sagged and George took the shot. Probably I’ll advised but he took what the defense gave them

I dunno, the other coaches seem to have figured it out. Whatever they are doing clearly doesn’t work.

Four pod winners play 3rd and 4th game to decide 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. All other 14 teams only play a third game. If we beat Kansas (and Houston beats Tennessee), Houston will be the sole winner of our pod. The margin doesn't matter.

It's a dumb post - we played against a team that played for the title, with a HOF coach and ranked 3rd. We were 15 point dogs without Donnie Freeman in the game. You're saying some dummy off the street could do better.

We had a shot, it didn't work out. Team played really well minus the foul shots. Not sure what the coaching failure is but I am sure some do.

Melo didn't cut any checks for our players.
 
Really nothing bad you can take from this game other than missed free throws. We probably should have beat the number 3 team in the country. We didn’t look overmatched at all, we looked good most of the game defensively, we are on par or better athletically. We are a tourney team.

We best Kansas tomorrow without their stud.
Also we lost this game but it probably moves us up in the Kenpom. And gives us some eyes and relevancy nationally again

Let’s give Red some credit for realizing the bad matchup that Kiyan presented this game and adjusting. Some people on here whine all the time about Red’s coaching, but I thought he did a much better job tonight managing the players and the game. You can’t draw up a 10-point play to make up for misses at the line. Red did what he could and put these guys in a position to win.

The reason I am more giddy than frustrated with this loss is the 11-0 run and a chance to win in regulation. This team has heart, grit, and no quit! Given the shht sandwiches we’ve had the last few years, I’ll take a game like this. This team grew up tonight. Now they need to get to work making shots and making better decisions when points are at a premium.

LGO!!! Somewhere, Steve was watching.

Well, I don’t have time to go to everybody’s practice to compare and contrast. I can’t promise you I’d know what to look for and critique. I do know that we are awful at foul shots, and I’m a little surprised that it’s Hands Across America for Red Autry at this point.

I’m more on the pessimistic side of the fan spectrum. I was ready for them to fire Red 10 games into last season.

And I get being frustrated losing a game tonight that was right there. I’m not necessarily a fan of moral victories either. But, the “woe is me” fans after tonight’s loss are exhausting.

For the first time in 5 years this team has potential. Can we at least see how the next 48 hours go before being whiney b!+che$? If they don’t play well the next 2 days then sure, go ahead and be upset with the lack of progress in this program.

And down 4* out of a timeout we shot a 3 3 feet off the arc with 17 seconds left.

I’m not saying we played poorly. We have some of the best players in the country. I’m saying Red Autry is a bad coach.

For the record, it’s not “woe is me.” I’m not willing to give Red Autry 3 more years when we lose in the round of 32. PERIOD. I’m sorry.

All I’m saying is, i can’t for a moment believe they aren’t practicing them, so I’m gonna side with they suck.
 
Trying to figure out the plan in the last 30 seconds. We score to cut it to two with 34 seconds left, call our last timeout. I don’t think you can play it out in that situation: if Houston manages the game well at all they can release the shot with 6-7 seconds left, then you need to secure the rebound (an issue today!) and get the ball down for a look. So I think you play pressure defense, maybe try md get it to someone you want to foul. Instead we kinda just played passively for 10-15 seconds and then maybe intentionally fouled a pretty good ft shooter. Just really strange.

I’m not either. If they make the tournament and get to the round of 32 he doesn’t deserve another 3 years. But he at least deserves 1 more year.

I don't think that's true. I think everyone plays 3 games, and 1-4 is just decided by record, with MOV being the tie breaker.

Honestly? Do you honestly believe that? I kinda hope it depends on the rest of the year.
