We will be loaded next year

It's a little early to think too much about next year but I wouldn't go so far as to say we'll be loaded. I think Slayton will be tough to replace and the DEs will have to be even better than they have been this year to make up for him, especially since they'll probably draw some of the attention Slayton gets now. We'll need some young LBs to step up, losing two seniors. It's a little concerning the back ups aren't trusted enough to get more time than they have. We're losing 3 SRs on the Oline. Luckily we will have had some guys that have had experience there but there may be some new faces that take a little time to get up to speed.

WR will probably be better with the number of young guys getting significant experience and the transfer. RB should be better, if for no other reason than Adams is expected to be a stud. The secondary should be better with Cordy being the only loss there.

Right now I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of this season. I haven't felt this good about a team since McNabb, Konrad, and KJ were running around on the carpet.

I don't like how Clark hasn't even been traveling with the team. My guess for OT next year will be Servais and Dakota Davis. Going to be interesting there. Would be really fortunate to pick up another Koda Martin type OT. We can't count on recruiting to the ability of picking up a day 1 ready OT, or quality enough at JC.

Same goes for DT.

Other than that we will have a very nice chance to build on this years success (it's coming).

Way to earlier opinion... Next year we'll be a 7-8 win team. 2020 with devito as a 2nd year starter and all the WR depth, RB depth, etc. I think we have a shot at 10+ wins.

What about White? You don't think he has a shot after a redshirt year?

Hopefully. I have no idea. I know he had a long way to go, but if they can get him ready that would solve a whole lot of problems.

I thought Alton was a senior, wow that DE position is scary next year. We are hampered on offense this year by our wrs I think, next year that position is very solid. I am excited about this year and our future. It’s great to see hope in the program now.

Agree with everything you say. Talent next year is impressive. OL, LB and DT are the worries for me.

Projected OL:
Veterello-Davis-Heckel-Adams-Servais
White-Davis-Byrne-Froumy-Clark
No way Veterello gets LT1. Servais has experience/trust. He's my LT. D.Davis RG. Veterello/P.Davis RT.

Doesn't Cordy have a medical redshirt?

I am very wary about our lb. if the two we have now are our best then we might be in trouble.
Well I am getting the feeling that DFB tends to side (significantly) with experience so these 2 may not be the most talented but they are certainly the most experienced.

Armstrong & Shy will step up next year
Clemson's gonna have a lot of people on their defense gone next year, a few on the o-line, and (about damn time) Mr. Renfrow.
And nothing but 4* and 5* So and Jr's behind them.

As long as Dabo is at Clemson they re-load, not re-build. Just like 'Bama (and 'Cuse bball)

If we can keep Dino, I think we can get there, where having a "Devito" replacing a Dungey will be the rule instead of the exception.

This year there’s a strong chance we might win 8 or 9 games which is a lot more than most people thought. But next years team. All I can say is WOW. At QB we have DeVito and Amie. Dungy is really really good but I think as for the position that’s an upgrade. At RB we’ve got Neal, Howard, and Abdul Adams. Wow that’s special talent there. At WR Taj Harris, Ed Hendrix, Trishton Jackson, Nykeim Johnson, Sharod Johnson, Anthony Queeley, and Cooper Lutz. Add in Butler and Riley as the upperclassmen and the position is miles upon miles better than this year. The OLine is losing 3 starters which hurts but the replacements have played a lot. Plus guys like Qadir White, Carlos Vettorello, and Wil Froumy are waiting for their chance.

On defense the defensive end are really really good. And they’re coming back. The DTs though worry me. This is the only position next year that does. After McKinley Williams, Bear, who do we have. Slayton will be a huge loss. But at linebacker we have a ton of talent. Juan Wallace, Lakiem Williams, Kadeem Trotter, Tre Allison, and Nadarius Fagan are all talented younger players that could make a difference next year. I think we’ve upgraded that position. The Secondary is scary. If Cordy comes back we lose NOBODY! And with the freshman getting better it’s gonna be hard passing on these guys. On special teams Hofrichter is already one of the best punters in the country, so next year he could be even better. And what can I say about Szmyt? I don’t know where this kid came from but he’s going into Death Valley and kicking 50 yard figs like nothing. We have nothing to worry about at kicker for the next 4 years. That to me is a stacked football team.

But that’s next year. This year I’m going to continue to watch SU put a beating on all opponents in our way. But if you take a little peak ahead to next year I think greatness is waiting.

I looked at the two deep a couple weeks ago, and 34 of the top 44 players will be returning next year, along with all our kickers. Plus we remove a Notre Dame type of game, in terms of degree of difficulty, off the schedule.

Next year looks primed for 8 or 9 wins to kick off Tommy's era, maybe more, depending on how much the team develops over the remainder of this season. I hope we win those 8 or 9 games THIS year and make it to a late December bowl. It would be great.

We keep playing the way we are, and we might grab a couple late 4 stars for DT or LB.
Gotta think Juan Wallace is in the works for next year at LB. After enrolling early, and seeing some time this year, given his talent level coming in he will probably be in the plans.

Also surprised that Nadarius Fagan hasn't stepped up yet. Was very excited about him when he committed, I don't know if he's recorded a tackle.

Agree, nexr year will be a bit of a transition year with TD taking over. We need to see 2 or 3 wrs step up. The oline continues to get better. Hopefully McKinley can take over Slaytons dominant role. The secondary future is sooooo bright with trill and Cisco. We will need a burner at rb along with Howard. The backers must continue to improve.

I am high on Wallace. Fagan is very light and wonder if that's holding up his shot at pt.

Uh, no - we don’t.

Was the “Fat Pirate” who put up video game #’s for Dino mobile?

TD ran for a TD, and has had a few other nice runs in limited attempts.
He doesn’t need to run like Dungey to be insanely effective in this O - just needs to pick his spots, and avoid taking big hits.

The difference between TD and ED will be that ED looks to run and TD looks to buy time for a pass.

Maybe Babers looks over the waiver wire and adds a 5th year transfer at DT. Might be a lot of kids that would like an opportunity to play for a good team.
There are a lot of guys who left their teams after four games (a la Kelly Bryant). Many are looking now.

I prefer "Will he stay or will he go" to "Why can't we get good players, (or coaches) to come here?"
Nobody leaves a battleship to move to a minesweeper. We'll be just fine. No one's leaving. We will rule the ACC for the next few years.
