Week 12 Bowl Watch

Virginia tech scheduling another game to try to get bowl eligible. Dec 1 against Marshall if they win this Sat.

Don't have to state it, but this BC game is huge. We win we play ISU/Texas/WVU in an intriguing match up in the Camping World Bowl. We lose and it's most likely Pinstripe at the end of December. Our offense isn't conducive to playing outside in the northeast in late December.

To be fair, it’s clearly not conducive to playing outside in the northeast in November either. Which is why I’m worried about Saturday.

What does Washington State do different than us where they're throwing for like 1,000 yards per game in the rainy, cold northwest?

Citi Field is much better. Wish the bowl game was there. Wider concourses, better food options and the club setups are better.
But...they don't have the bars like YS does. The best deal was standing outside Yankee Tavern on the sidewalk drinking 24 ouncers in paper bags. The deli across the street was making a killing selling them for $3.50.

That sounds like a blast...

stayed up late and watched washington state demolish arizona. qb minshew was 43/55 for 473 yards with 7 tds. dude completed passes to 11 different receivers (7 different wrs caught td passes) . this offense is a handful for anybody.

edit. game also featured a bizarre play where the wsu special teams recovered a kickoff in the end zone for a score. never seen that.
For old timers: I was at Archbold stadium in 1975. Villanova versus Syracuse Bill Hurley lets the ball sit there in the end zone after a kick off and Villanova recovers for a TD. Coach Maloney was incensed that future quarterback Bill Hurley did not know the rule. I think Howie long might have been playing for Villanova then.

Beat BC and we probably get the Sun. Lose and it's Yankee part deaux. I fear our turnout for another Pinstripe after the ND debacle would be very poor.

I would take the sun but I believe it would be camping because we would be highest rated team in Acc outside of clemson when they win acc and now Notre lame is ny6 bound regardless.

No Pinstripe! Been there and done that too many times plus this team deserves better.

Get a win next week and go to Disneyworld

if we win I think we have a chance at better. Coming off 2 losses, at 8-4, its gonna be pinstripe

I want a game at a place where bathroom lines aren't 100 people deep and you can get a popcorn in under an hour. Not impressed with Yankee Stadium and don't want a bowl game there.

I think my favorite part about the game (from a left field bleachers perspective) is there was basically a hidden Men's room, you could only see the sign if you were looking for it. It was great, not many people figured it out, never a line. Never even close to full.

And before you say it, no, it wasn't like the rest stops in There's Something About Mary.

And yeah, if you're favorite part about a game is short rest room line, that means you drank too much and cheered too little.

Yep. Said that to my dad as well.

Is it just me or was there only one bathroom at the 200 level? Maybe I didn't do enough walking around.

Have to hope that they do win Saturday. Going back to Yankee Stadium in the span of one month should be the last thing the Yankees want. If the Notre Dame game was in South Bend, they'd have a much larger SU contingent as the novelty of seeing your team would be fresh.

You obviously weren't sneaking in from the exit like me ;). They actually put a security guy on mine in the 2nd half because so many peeps were doing it but the idiot was on the phone and easily distracted.

from what i saw when arizona blitzed menshew threw a dart slant pass to his hot read . when he had time he read the field and just threw to gaps in the zone and his receivers ran wide open to them. truly put on a clinic that game.

If we beat BC and Pitt beats Miami (and loses to Clemson), they'd have a better conference record. I think in that scenario, they get Orlando and we get Old El Paso or Grand Ole Opry. They also own the tiebreaker against us.

i have to trust wildhack to make it clear to acc office that we would rather not play back 2 back in yankee stadium if thats what the players and coaches communicate to him

Pinstripe vs Ohio St or Ped State would be great. Against Northwestern or Rutgers it would be terrible. Redeeming ourselves with a win against a big name Big Ten team would not be the worst thing. Maybe we get the cancelled Wisconsin game? OSU/PSU/Wiscy/Michigan are the only teams I'd be interested in attending but I think theres a decent shot it would be one of them. Its Teir 1. Anyone else and I totally agree with you.
