Week 4 ACC/FBS Games for Sept 21-23

This would change all of American sports. It's something that sets soccer apart, IMO. EVERY GAME MATTERS. Lose, and your team loses money, you take a pay cut as a player, and maybe even get sold to another team.

American sports is oligarchy at its worst. So many pro teams, especially small market teams, don't even try to field competitive teams. So many games in American sports are literally irrelevant. In a more perfect world, a baseball team that loses more than 100 games should spend a season playing against AAA clubs.

Just like so much of America; it's socialism for the rich and privileged. It's not true competition.

Kind of contradicting yourself there. Saying small market teams don’t try to be competitive than inferring they’re the rich and privileged. These small market teams aren’t SMU. They have smaller budgets. Relegation is just as much for the rich and privilege, you watch European soccer, it’s like the Yankees over there. The richest teams have the most success. It’s no different than here. Just set up differently.

Enough teams are losing that we don’t have to worry about not being ranked should we beat Clemson right? Kind of scared we’ll be behind all these new 1 loss teams tomorrow.

Kansas City and so many other teams fail to invest year after year.

And yet, the AVERAGE value of a Major League Baseball franchise has increased from $238M twenty years ago, to over $2.3 billion today.

The top 10 teams in terms of payroll pay roughly twice as much as the bottom 10 teams. And consider that they bottom 10 teams share equally in national TV revenue (unlike college sports, or many soccer leagues in Europe), and their investment is now worth 10 times as much as it used to be 20 years ago, whether they try to win, or not.

They have money. Sure, local TV contracts don't pay as much in smaller markets. There is the local market income, which can be very substantial, just like in college sports. But at least in college sports, the "Haves" are trying to ditch the "Dead Wood" teams who never really try to compete; the ones who are just happy to collect a big paycheck.

I don’t think the ball crossed. But it’s very close.

That ref was putting it down right on the hash, and then quickly moved it ahead a football's length to the first down side. I'm convinced he tried to give it to them there.

So really absolutely no one looks like a juggernaut so far this year. Not even Georgia. Interesting start to the year.

On another note not a good year for our recent txfrs.

Carter- only stats all year were 2 tackles against Youngstown state.

Duce- still no stats since FSU that I've seen.

Linton- 9 tackles on the year after today's loss. TTU is 1-3 to start the year. Playing plenty but hasn't popped much.

Geer- has been injured all season so far that I've seen.
