Yes he said that publicly. He was very clearly told he was not coaching next year. That is fired. ADJW basically refused to answer the question at the presser when asked if Jim retired. If he had, wouldn’t you think ADJW would have said unequivocally yes? This isn’t rocket science…

You come on. Why would Wildhack fire Boeheim when Boeheim himself knew it was time to go. If he fired him SU would be on the hook for next year’s salary. Seems kind of foolish when he was on his way out anyways. Wildhack was trying not to steal Boeheim’s moment by announcing his retirement for him, but Boeheim botched the end game messaging.

JB had one year left on the contract, he didn’t retire, but the university told him he will not return. Sucks JB went there but it is what it is. Glad JB isn’t holding the program hostage any longer. On to AA.

IMO, more so than folks being 'bent out of shape' (not sure how many of those are truly out there as it was beyond time and most reasonable folks probably thought this) is mere principle. Unfortunately, we live in a world where it's better/more acceptable to spin things and/or run from the actual truth (at times) because of perception, PR, etc. you name it. It only fuels speculation and conjecture.

Whether he was fired, retired or if how this went down was the "iron clad" plan all along, who knows for certain.

Total Bullcrap.

They put JB's stuff in a trash bag and left it on the curb on Comstock Ave.

And JB had to be escorted off the property by DPS. They sent 5 officers to control JB. But 4 of them stopped in the breakroom along the way for donuts.

JB was moved to Day Hall by the Goon Squad that moves you in when you first come to Syracuse. He has an open double. His roommate is an 18 year old that got rejected from Newhouse, but is "finding his way" as a "TikTok Influencer" in Arts and Sciences and listens to Blink 182 because "he likes the oldies".

Luckily JB got the window bed, but not sure he's going to be a big fan of Graham Dining Hall. His RA doesn't really know what to tell JB about the rules; JB just sort of gives him a weird look when they pass each other in the hallway. When they did the floor meet and greet, JB's "one interesting fact about himself" was that he thinks Rihanna > Beyonce which caused some serious side eye.

As of this post, JB has been asked no less than 543 times to buy alcohol by the underage floor mates.

After 47 years as HC and almost 6 decades at the school, JB is relieved he can just kick back, clear a five footer like a boss, and just watch Dazed and Confused, Office Space and Half Baked on a constant replay.

Further in what I reported in Post #460 in this thread re the story going around in Syracuse that Boeheim was thrown out of his office, etc., I learned today that the source of that story is someone thought to be a personal friend of Boeheim's. I checked this further with someone who is close to SU & this person thought that while it may not be that he was literally thrown out of his office, it may have been something along those lines. (It's possible JB may have been slow in moving out of his office.) This person believes it is likely that the relationship between Boeheim and Wildhack isn't good.

JAB went off traveling to visit Buddy and whatnot after the transition, so they cleaned out his old office for him.

It’s not like he’s been banished to the basement with only his orange stapler.
