LOL this is the most hilarious spin I have heard yet. Who knows, maybe thats true but if what some connected folks on the site are saying is true, hes pouting.

Actually, why in the hell would him tweeting/instagram posting a simple "What an amazing career for JB" take away from JB or red? Literally everyone else is doing it. The silence speaks louder then a post ever would.

He posted this about an hour after the presser.

Post in thread 'Weitsman'

Someone said he was underpaid and wasn’t rich, which is just insane. Dude probably hasn’t had to cash a paycheck in 15 years.
Yeah but there is a difference between rich and filthy rich.

At the presser Gmac was named as part of the staff. Did you not watch?

Hiring Blackwell and Devo as assistant coaches would be absolutely terrible.

I cannot see it. One of them sure.
Love Devo’s energy. If he gets us into Detroit, maybe. Here Harried might be a good option, if Red stays all Orange. He should help in VA/MD/DC area.

Hearing he’s out. New NIL guy based in Syracuse.

Also hearing Gmac is probably out, and DEVO may be added to staff with the support of the new NIL guy. Also, a chance Blackwell is added to the staff. Griffin to be promoted to associate HC position.

Will be interesting to see what happens.
Oof. I don’t see Wildhack allowing a staff with so little college experience. It’s not his model. He wants veteran staffs to help coaches.

So i heard earlier this week that on last friday Boeheim met with Widhack and that he was out after the next loss and autry would soon be named HC. and also the weitsman was banned. which is why i put this on here.

I thought it was just wild rumors. But every part of the first prediction was correct including the convo being on friday now that we found out today.

i also heard jimmy jr was part of the deal. so we'll see.
Why on earth would he be banned?

Still don’t see what Adam did that was so terrible. Can someone remind Kent that this isn’t a monastery? Sports are a big business. Sick of the holier than thou.
He did nothing wrong. If people are upset with his actions, they’re the ones that should be hitting the bricks, not adam.

Pure incompetence from our admins - again. Get someone with a functioning brain in these offices.

This man kept us in the discussion when we weren’t winning games, so they better fix it
There are others in the community with enough disposable income to assist, without drawing attention to themselves. As other have alluded to, there appears to be new players in this space that the university is more aligned with.

The speed limit is 65, but everyone knows they can do 75 and not get pulled over.

But you don’t do 75 with the top down, a beer in your hand, flipping off the cops working the speed trap.

I think is where the university is…you need help, but let’s not end up on probation #3.

I don’t either one is hired. I still think we see a hired gun recruiter and a veteran bench coach.
Using football as the model where Babers eventually learned to go find experienced right hands, Autry will definitely go outside the alum circle for at least one notable hire.

He all but said that during Q&A.

It’s insane, but would love a John Belein-version of a former head coach who has down shifted in his career. A Rocky Long of sorts. Pair that with a rising recruiter and…Bam.

Has anyone stepped up to the extent that Adam seemed willing to. If so, I am not aware of it.

All I know is if even half of what is being said in this string is true, Syracuse basketball will be good again in about never.

Considering we are on the verge of getting former McDonald’s All American JJ Starling and Autry is hitting the recruiting road hard, I think we’ll be just fine. Also, I’ve heard of a few other names of “donors” who will be supporting the program.

Anonymity is kind of the point. AW seemed to help the University and athletic program almost as a bi-product of helping himself become famous.

It is a little unseemly, but it doesn't hurt anymore than me stripping down and painting myself orange at a game to get on TV. And he's spending way more than the cost of a ticket to get there.

Really commenting on the seeming disfunctional state of basketball administration in this thread, not any actual performance of the basketball teams future.

I remember saying when the full blown AW NIL deal with Moore came down that it was in a gray area and hopes SU doesn’t get dinged by the NCAA. I can understand SU’s concerns. I thought AW brought way too much attention to the recruit. Work behind the scenes and stay out of the media.

The thing with AW is the magnitude and the attention that it brings. The NCAA, or SU for that matter, doesn't care if he brings Tom Brady or Jalen Hurts to a game that SU loses. But when his actions opens up SU to liability, and this can be as minimal as having to spend $50k to defend against NCAA investigations, that's not how this kind of relationship works. AW is about AW first and I think part of this is that SUAD and the chancellor's office has been tolerating his publicity stunts in the expectation that he could be cultivated as an impressive booster. However, maybe what he's promised hasn't been delivered regardless of what AW has publicly said. Just a guess. No college turns down donations unless there is something else at work.

Frankly, since AW has been hanging around the program, it hasn't been successful, so I'm not sure that there's much to lose if he takes his ball and goes home because SU told him to tone it down and maybe help support in other areas too.

has a guy like Steve Barnes stepped up as a booster in addition to being prolific fundraiser on the building side of things at the school. I would this experience at Bain with Pagliuca (who is a big Duke booster and Celtics owner) has provided him with a roadmap of how to do it. I hear he's a great guy.

I agree that Adam is doing everything a tad too public for my taste. He can tamp it down by 20mph IMO. A third probation with a guy with zero capital built up would be a really big issue
