The refs certainly killed us today. 4th down PI and took away a TD that's no chop block at best, offsetting with their PI at worst. That's about a 14 point swing.

Having said that, they were much more talented than we were. Much more. I don't think their staff is particularly good, but their recruiting is.

Total yardage was 542 to 218.

We have a lot of work to do. We're just too young right now, and too many people are out. We don't have the depth to overcome it.

Better days coming, but today was really frustrating on many levels.

Good perspective. Calls aside, they had better athletes across the board, especially considering the ones we were missing today.

They whipped us physically.

People were piling on Ward in the game thread knowing full well the depth and experience issues on that side of the ball, along with the injuries. Inexplicable. NCSU has more talent than we do, and it's not particularly close

Calling for a coordinator change is misguided in my opinion, but I trust Dino will do what he needs to do, one way or the other.

It was a young defense out there today, against some strong, fast players for NC State and a good QB. And they were on the field a lot. They need to get better tackling, that's for sure. And some of the 3 man fronts are definitely frustrating, especially when you are struggling to tackle.

Great post, agree with everything above.

my hats off today to the special teams. they have been much maligned here but performed spectacularly today. offense and defense not so much.

Agree. FGs, punting, punt block, coverage teams were all good. Wish the offense could have come up with something better after that punt block.

Not much we could do on punt returns, their coverage was good, or their punts were bad.

KO returns were fine, couldn't return them all. Riley had one that got out to about the 35.

I agree we were out-manned but Ward needs to blitz a little more. We get little to no push up front. Got to bring some heat on occasion some our defensive backs down get exposed. Can't be too predictable. On top of that, when we do blitz, they are not disguised well at all.

Hearing NC St whipped us physically chaps my ace.

chubbs is the real deal. i understand and accept that. failure to block across the line anybody else. that hurts.

We were playing four - FOUR - true Frosh on the DL today - including Kenneth Ruff who I thought had a pretty darn good game.

We are extraordinarily young.

A lot of their offense came from their qb having all day to wait for someone to open. DL is the worst place to be young. I can't prove it but I think other schemes would be 2-10 with our line play on both sides.
