What are you really expecting vs Pitt?

I thought it was interesting to see Lester today admit that he called 32 pass plays last week. And that he was less than pleased that Dungey only threw 22 times. He wants that fixed. I think that 32 pass plays called in a game a team is leading for the vast majority of the game is pretty healthy (yes, Dungey likely threw 3-4 passes in OT).

But a lot of people on the board want more throwing? Namely Milly. And I am not saying this notion is terribly flawed. I'd argue primarily that we need to try to throw the ball down field a bit more. This is where the O-Line's sub-par play is hindering us.

I just don't think this a problem with scheme, as some would have you believe.

32 passes per game would put SU at 68th in the nation. And that is assuming that we got a pass off every play.

don't look a gift horse in the mouth. they need to throw more and the offensive coordinator agrees. baby steps

I have no expectations as our young team is simply too green. We will fight and hopefully, make it a game. However, I think Pitt's defense it the real deal and I don't see us scoring a lot of points. I am prepared for a semi-blowout if the secondary doesn't grow up fast. In most of our remaining games we will face defenses tougher than the ones we have faced thus far. I am looking forward to next season!
wow man never seen or read u this depressive don't wish next season it's a long off season live in the moment now

Sadly, I'm expecting the game to go much the same as the game we faced Larry Fitzgerald his final year, where they just threw it up and he made every catch.

Hope we can keep Boyd under control. If we can, we have a shot. If not, it is going to be a long day. I feel like I've seen this movie before.

That said, Let's Go Orange!!!

I expect the O-line to show up and open some holes for our running backs. This will allow ED to shine as our receivers are open long all day.

I expect lots of option early after gt went up and down the field last week

What I would like to see.

- The reins totally taken off Dungey. Let's him air it out. Let's flip last week's 2:1 run/pass to 2:1 pass/run.
- I want to see our young guys to show improvement.
- I want to see some of the Freshman who didn't take a redshirt get some snaps (Conway specifically).
- I want to see Shafer manage a game like he's playing to win, and not to lose.
- I want a hard fought win.

unfortunately what I expect is that I will be walking out once again dejected asking myself why I continue to torture myself.

I would expect this game to be a cure for insomnia.

As long as we have one more point, I don't care.

Let's resurrect the 'lock those damn doors of the Dome' plan, except without really needing to say it out loud.

Hope to we moo moo or Conway at RT with Palmer inside
Dowels or Hudson at cb alongside Winfield
Fredericks as the lead back with over 15 carries
10 targets to ish
Custis as a flex y with Lewis out
Womack in some capacity at WR since his redshirt is burned
10 touches for erv, 5 for Strickland
The reinvention of the screen pass if they are blitzing
Sugar bear to play run defense

Hope is a powerful thing. Whatever happens tomorrow I'm usually able to convince myself that we have a chance by next Saturday.

I'd like to see us put together two full halves of offense, and get enough stops out of our defense to win this game.

I'm not sure I expect that though. I expect us to have at least a dead quarter on offense, and for our defense to run out of gas. I expect Boyd will run through our secondary, and I expect us to run a low number of plays on offense. I think we might have enough to win, but it'll be close.
A happy downhill walk to my car at about 3:40 Saturday afternoon.

Really......I think this team is fun to watch on O. I never know whats going to happen next with Dungy , not always good things but usually exciting.

It's not about Dungey (who is awesome), it's just how our games with Pitt tend to go. Narduzzi is a good defensive mind, so I'd bet he's ready for whatever we have. Of course, if we execute, that won't really matter.

I think both teams are going to play to a slugfest.

They play the same defense as us basically. I wonder if he has the same deficiencies when it comes to QB's who scramble?

From what I can see a big difference between Pitt and Us is 4th quarter performance, fix that and were Golden

Pitt has been very good in the 1st and 3rd quarters. We need to start strong and finish. This is a 4 quarter game.

What I hope and what I expect are polar opposites, but the question was what do I expect...down a TD early, playing catch up all day, finally losing by 14-20. I'll start watching and by some point in the 3rd period time with my kids etc will win out over torturing myself with the rest of the game.

This doesn't make me happy, at all, but that is where my expectations are right now. :bang:

At some point I expect my eyes to bleed.
