What is wrong with Andre?

Laces have been in a bunch
Might be in his own head as well
Hard to say

I was watching him in warmups and the ball doesn’t jump off his foot at all. It’s like he’s kicking a nerf ball. Also, he takes one step and kicks it. Probably more accurate but he was barely hitting from 38 in warmups.

1-4 from beyond 40 in non pressure situations.

let’s have him kick a 48 with the game on the line instead of a qb sneak!!!!

tbh it’s probably psychological which is normal for a kicker. He knew he has missed from that range this season and was in his head.

Please explain
No ST coach. Coaching matters so much at this level.
Its why our OL is doing so well. We finally have a solid coach.
Its also why the kicking game is bad this year why the holder is screwing up and yes why a great kicker is off.
If a golfer is off he goes to a coach.
Our guys dont have anyone to correct them or to focus on the details which are critical in the kicking game.
If Lustig was still on staff Andre makes this kick and last weeks kick.

It was a huge let down after we got within FG range. He is way off this year.

Ray Finkle would know…

In the past we've always used the punter as the holder.

This year for some reason, we're using the back-up long snapper.

This is a fugly hold...

From the NY Times

When a holder sets the ball for a kicker, the rule of thumb is “laces out” — meaning the holder should rotate the ball to put the lace on the side facing the goal posts. Something about the way that white strip meets the kicker's foot can make the ball fly in unpredictable directions.

Is this even true? Do the laces in or out really matter or is that just kicker superstition ?
seems to be you should be able to kick the ball no matter where the laces are - but I admit that’s 100% speculation

I mean, the ball's shape makes it fly in unpredictable directions.

That’s been how he’s held it all year. Doesn’t even attempt to spin it. Just puts the ball down however he receives the snap.
