What movie has the best assembled crew ever?

Was it supposed to win awards ? Was it promoted like that?
Seemed like that was was a well put together cast if you look at it.
I love Con Air but I don't think anyone's goal was to win film awards.
This was more of an 'I-want-to-be-able-to-buy-a-castle-in-Europe' acting opportunity.

You mean The Outsiders

C. Thomas Howell
Matt Dillon
Ralph Macchio
Patrick Swayze
Rob Lowe
Emilio Estevez
Tom Cruise
Diane Lane
Leif Garrett
Sofia Coppola
Flea
Cam Neely
S.E. Hinton
You are correct and much more thorough than I am

It occurred to me that How The West Was Won had a cast that rivaled The Longest Day for sheer star power. It even featured Spencer Tracy as the narrator and had 3 Directors (including John Ford) directing different segments. One difference between the 2 and I think you have to take into consideration is that there was not a lot of interaction between the various actors due to the segmented storyline format. It was almost like watching 5 movies spliced together.

Or what about another WW2 movie based on a Cornelius Ryan book - A Bridge Too Far.
It's got Sean Connery, Robert Redford, Gene Hackman, Michael Caine, Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins, Maximilian Schell, Hardy Kruger, James Caan, and so many others.
I don't think it was a critical success but I loved it when it aired on tv.
Lets not forget the Dirty Dozen. Has the greatest football player ever plus a lot of great career actors that everyone knows. One of my favorite all time movies. The Dirty Dozen (1967) - IMDb

There are so many interesting details in the 'Casting' and 'Post Production' sections for this movie's Wikipedia page, including -
During the filming, Adrien Brody thought he was going to be one of the leads.

Blues Brothers (for musical talent anyway)
TV but: Band of Brothers. Many weren't famous at the time but are household names now.

You can tell this is a predominantly male board because most of these casts have a lot of famous male actors.

Let's not forget 'Ocean's 8' (which I slept through)

I was just about to offer Steel Magnolias, but you completely stole my thunder.

Little Women? The one about the traveling pants? The one with Angelina Jolie where she is psycho. How about Ghostbusters with all women. Nothing sexist but do any fit the qualifications. Blame Hollywood.

Just watched The Towering Inferno on Amazon Prime.

Maybe I’m a nostalgic fool for old school disaster movies and cheesy special effects but this movie is awesome and the list of movie stars is long.

Amazon Prime has all kinds of good old stuff.

I watched Clue last week, because, why not? It was great.
