What would our record be if Frank started alongside Jesse from game one on?

Because we do and have for a long time. And now you don’t like that we recruited Frank? He’s become a very serviceable center.
You're an intelligent guy. I think you know the point i was making.

We'd like to recruit 5 star finished players. They don't line up to come to SU. So we try to recruit potential particularly for big men.
So don't rely on soley in a system that keeps athletes off the floor for so long. Be adaptable so that athletes can get on the floor before someone gets hurt and forces the coach's hand.

I don’t know about you, but my favorite part of this thread is watching the “Girard is playing out of position” crowd push for Anselem to play out of position.
I just wish Girard got the rotation that Dion Waiters, Brandon Triche, and Scoop Jardine got.

That won’t be allowed again till next year.

Frank is raw and hasn’t played much basketball. Expecting him to learn the complexities and nuances of the zone isn’t fair to him. Maybe next year.

And wait for it - he cannot shoot.

Rick Jackson is in his 30s now...

That hasn’t been “allowed” since those guys were here.

I’m not sure the pick and roll works with Jesse like it has been if Frank is in the lineup with him.

Not opposed to testing that lineup out next year, but Jackson was a defensive big east player of the year and had post up moves/a 7’ jumper. We should be careful trying to compare a team with with professional talent at every position to our team currently.

I think many of us are ignoring foul trouble with playing both at the same time too. Then everyone would complain because JR has to play center after both foul out and Sidibe gets his 3rd offensive foul.

Oh this is good.

Yes, totally. JGIII starting 83 games at PG while we're on the downturn is exactly the same at trying to shore up our front line defense by playing an athletic big instead of a guy who is arguably the worst front line defender in the history of our program.

I'm not saying I agree with OP, but my favorite part of this thread are those that are cool with our back slide into obscurity and not even considering trying something different to improve.

I think you’re misconstruing acceptance as approval.

Do you think JB reads this board? No? Then how long do these threads need to go? How many times does the point need to repeated?

I’m among those who have wondered if Anselem can play some forward. He hasn’t, most likely because he can’t. It’s not as if JB is opposed to playing centers at forward. As many have pointed out, he’s done so in the past with guys like Jackson and Christmas. At the very least, if Anselem was capable, he would be taking Williams’ minutes.

There are no conspiracies here. JB is employing the same distribution of minutes he’s been employing for the last several years. Go ahead and whine about talent until you’re blue in the face. It’s all relative.

This is how he coaches. This is how he’s going to coach until he retires. Get over it.

It's an internet fan message board. 1) I would hope to god JB doesn't read this board, but more importantly, I literally do not care at all what JB does in his free time and 2) I don't need to get over anything, again, it's a fan message board.

Acceptance, approval, who cares? We can talk about these things, again, on an internet fan message board.

You have. Ad nauseam.
