Whats the best bar to watch The game

Any of the typical sports bars are going to be insane around here, matter of fact...any restaurant or establishment that serves alcohol and has a tube TV will be a madhouse.

I watched the Virginia game at Chadwick's. Always a good spot for games and good atmosphere. I think I will be at Wildcat for this one.

Cobblestone or retreat in Liverpool is always a good spot to watch a game with folks, but then you have to drive through the village when you leave.

Tullys is a safe bet, especially North Syracuse or Liverpool with quick access back to 81

Chucks. It will be an absolute mad house, driving in from Roch to go. Got a room because I won't be driving back that night for sure. Went there for the Mich FF game and the atmosphere was amazing. It's a dive college bar that I as a 40 year old would usually avoid. But for home Cuse pre games and big time tournament games it's the mecca.

Pizza man in Bville

:)

I assume you're going to Houston.

BTW you know how I feel about Sammie's but the Office is making a strong push for the best place to watch a game.

Maybe I shouldn't have to say this but if you're planning to booze it up, and who can blame you, take a cab to and from the venue or have a friend drive who for whatever reason doesn't drink. Court clerk in the Bronx for 25 years, filled out the paperwork for hundreds of drunk driving cases. It's easy to reach .05 on the breathalyzer which is driving while ability impaired, the lowest level. And refusing the breathalyzer will just get you in cuffs sitting in jail even faster. I don't want you to miss the potential action on Monday because of an error in judgment Saturday!

Enclosed is the DMV section that gives potential penalties. Based on my experience, a first time offense will not mean jail unless there are unusual circumstances, and even a second might not. But a lot depends on the judge.

Wonder if the Carrier Dome will host viewing as they have done for some previous Final 4 appearances?

I'm still begging for advice for those of us low rollers staying near the airport in Houston that don't want to be teetotalers. If anyone sees this before they see my plea in the various Houston threads, feel free to chime in there, or PM me. I think your post(cut and paste is fine, I imagine penalties are roughly equivalent) would be a good reminder in those threads for those who aren't as concerned as myself. TX cops may be even less friendly than NY cops. Cab from my hotel would be quite costly, as I think it's 35 miles out if I recall(I checked so many places I dont even recall) which makes the normally simple cab solution not sound so feasible, especially 2 ways. Thanks in advance!

When out of towners get arrested in the Bronx they are frequently given desk appearance tickets, which means they are brought to the precinct, fingerprinted and given a court date about 2 months away, if there are no warrants. This is for misdemeanors or lesser infractions but NOT for DWIs. You get put through the system for those. So I'd guess it would be the same if not stricter in Texas.

I've seen videos on snapchat and I don't get why it took that long to say Chuck's was the place to go. Unreal atmosphere.

Blarney did a HUGE addition. 3 times the size now
Did they add on to the bar area? I remember there was a back room and kitchen but it didn't seem like there was a lot more room for expansion. As to "HUGE", Billy is down here too now.

They blew out the area upstairs towards the back. I'm not good at square footage but it was a major expansion

If you are 25 and under of course chucks. At 40 you couldn't pay me to step back in there. Lol. Damn I got old quick.

They took down a home next door on Avery (south side of the bar) and have a new front to back addition with TV's, seating, new bathrooms and another bar next to the older bar, pool area and the old seating in the back for eating . It's almost doubled it's size with the addition.

like 690West said they put on an addition with a bar and a ton of TVs, tables & booths. They also put in new bathrooms between the new addition and the old space, expanded the kitchen and that room so it's adjoining the new addition. It was a major overhaul. I was there for the first Friday game at noon, it was packed, wall to wall people. I love Blarney, they have great food and bartenders but when it gets like that it's hard to move around or get a drink.

Rosie's upgraded the entire place after Peter Coleman bought it. There are two bars and TVs everywhere. Food is better at Blarney but there is more space at Rosie's and it's easier to park.

Wow! That's quite the change from just a few years ago when we were up there visiting. Other then the deck, that place hadn't changed much since the '70s and '80s when I was there last.
