What's the best game you've ever seen in the Dome?

1. 87 PSU, A turning point
2. 98 Miami blowout city
3. 87 WVU
4. 84 Nebraska
5 Gedney 2 yards short ( most hyped Syracuse game that lived up to it )

The thing about Brominski...the play was epic and the actual ending was legendary...but the playcalling leading up to that...was bad. Miracle play really saved what would have been some tremendous criticism on the coaching staff.

The only bad part about the Oklahoma game was the final score. I think the were down by almost 30 points at the half and remember saying to my dad- I was 15 at the time-we should go. He said we’ll go when the games over. Thanks dad!

Mason was fantastic in the second half. He had an absolute cannon for an arm.
24-0 at half. Early third quarter OU had a breakaway for a touchdown but Bryce Bevill chased the player down and popped the ball out at the last possible second for a touchback. That would have almost certainly emptied out the Dome if we went down 31-0. Just an incredible comeback.

Most of our great teams seem to have had the incredible ability to make seemingly fatal mistakes and then respond with a big play.

The best game has to be a great game as a game plus a huge win for SU. That makes it West Virginia '87. Va Tech '98 and '02 may have been as good as games but not as important. Nebraska '84, Clemson '17 might have bene as big but they weren't quite as good as games. Penn State '87 and Miami '98 were dream sequences but not great games.

The recent triple OT win over UNC. I watched the video vs Oklahoma, thanks for posting. The two things that stood out for me were, we could play with anyone and the crowd. I hope I have the opportunity to watch a game in a sold out dome. 30,000+ was loud, can’t imagine 50,000.

BC 2013 was nice. Won the game on a walkoff basically and then won Texas Bowl. High point for HCSS

2001 Auburn gets a mention for a different reason. First game following 911. Packed house. When they played Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA", with everyone waving an American flag, it was spine tingling. And SU won the game.

Really outrageous. Missing the extra point was the cherry on top. That game should have ended as a tie. Would have been a nice tie bookend with the Texas one the year before.

speaking of 93/94. I should know the answer to 94 b/c i was on campus but there wasn't a syracusefan back then. was there a legit reason why we weren't in a bowl game for either season? 93 i kinda get b/c it was unmet expectations but the 94 team kinda played to its expectations and finished 7-4. Was there some anti Syracuse bowl issues then?
My understanding about 1994 was that the bowls were hesitant to offer because of how stagnant our O had become in the back half of the season. This could be urban legend, but the story was that there were bowl reps in attendance for the WVU game, and all we needed to do was be competitive, score a few points, and we’d get an invite. Instead we lost 13-0 and that was that.

The Florida State game in 2018 was my second game as a student in the Dome (Wagner). I'll never forget completely being drenched in Dome foam and sweat in the student section. Playoff atmosphere. Best time ever.
