Who else do you root for?

1. Cuse for obvious reasons
2. Notre Dame - My Dad & I have been fans for many years
3. Ohio St. - I started liking them when they beat OJ Simpson & USC back in the 67 Rose Bowl. I hate USC.

oh my :p

I root for whoever is playing VT, BC, Penn state, WVU, Notre Dame, Miami, or that scrubby New Jersey school.

1. USC Trojans (grad school). What a performance from their D today shorthanded! Lots of mistakes by Stanford I know.
2. Anybody against ND
3. Anybody against Ohio St.
4. Oregon (Always liked their style and athletes)
5. Michigan (Brother did two degrees there)

ACC teams in non-conference games.
Tennessee - My move to Tennessee coincided with their downturn and them being big rivals with Florida and Alabama makes them an ideal choice for me.
USC - my girlfriend's alma mater
Pitt - my dad's alma mater.

When I was a kid, Nebraska-Oklahoma was THE Thanksgiving game. Johnny Rodgers made me a Nebraska fan. But now that they are in the Big 10, not so much.

Anthony Davis had the same affect on me vs Notre Dame. I also remember at a young age I liked watching the USC cheerleaders. ;)

Others I don't mind winning (unless they play Syracuse) are Navy, Wisconsin, and okay, the wife went to Georgia Tech. ;)

EDIT: These are football only. Bball would be totally different.

Michigan, grew up a fan of both Michigan and Syracuse, tonight was an utter embarrassment.

U rah rah Wi - i- i-is-coh-ohn-son! Home state, Madison alum.
Louisville. The cousins. Duhhhh.
UNC. Master's degree.
Stanford. My aunt.

Tonight I - I - ULP! - rooted for the Buckeyes because my new daughter-in-law went to OSU and I just felt like a piece of filth.

I didn't see the game. How bad was UM and/or how good was ND? Golson does look like he has improved. What's your prognosis for MetLife?

I root for the Texas State University Fightin' Armadillos. Paul Blake was a hell of a quarterback.
Those buggers are fightin thats for sure, Had one in my backyard in Arizona. Bastards all of them.

Syracuse is by far and away #1.

I enjoy the following teams, in no particular order:

Alabama: They were on TV and Bear Bryant was a winner (I know he cheated, but I still liked him)
Anyone playing Penn State (and even more so now that we know JoePa protected a child molester in exchange for wins)
LSU: Stationed in LA (State not city)
Texas
TAMU
Baylor (this is a recent development but I like a private school doing well in a Big State U world)
Oklahoma (Familial ties)
USC: See Private school thing above
Michigan
tOSU: Only because I was stationed in Ohio during the John Cooper years and I felt sorry for a team that could whip everyone so long as they were not named Michigan or in a Bowl game
FSU: Always liked Bobby Bowden
Anyone playing a Steve Spurrier coached team (I am starting to get the same feeling towards U. Meyer)
Arizona: I was stationed in Tucson. Love the town.
I now pull for all ACC teams during OOC games (even VPI, though I do so kicking and screaming, if VPI and their opponent could lose with VPI losing a little bit less, I would feel better about this)

It was a combination of both, we have a lot of work to do in the upcoming weeks if we are going to be able to compete with ND.

They have a real coaching staff & we don't. I'm hoping we can compete, but I'm not optimistic.

I have two rules regarding rooting interests: 1) Never root against a school that conferred me a degree. 2) Never root against Navy

I have degrees from Syracuse and Southern Illinios (Go Salukis!). My Dad was a Navy man.

Iowa State - Alum

Kinda root for Iowa at times, my wife works at the University Hospital and is a season ticket holder.

Syracuse is always #1

Then probably...
Nebraska
Alabama
Florida
Washington
Anybody against Va Tech (although I do find it quite humorous that they beat the Buckeyes, and I called that)
College of William and Mary - mother worked in the football department (after working in the Syracuse football department)

Syracuse
Creighton (no football team but hometown basketball team so we have had season tickets since the family moved to Omaha)
and whoever is playing Nebraska in anything.

Syracuse and Wisconsin are easy as I have degrees from both. I went to Miami for a year before transferring to Wisconsin, so I root for them to win the Coastal.

In out of conference games, I root for the ACC and B1G schools to do well and root against every $EC team. Unfortunately, the B1G love and the $EC hate has not been working out well for me this year.

Nebraska. Nobody ran the option like they did in the 80s and 90s. Not even us
