Notre Dame. My father’s brother played for Coach Leahy and I have numerous other relatives who went there so it was ingrained in me. That and to never speak of Texas in his presence. I learned to hate Ped State all on my own.

UCLA- I have relatives out there and I don't think the UCSB Gauchos have a team

Growing up Irish Catholic. it was almost mandatory to like Notre Dame. I even attended the Catholics v. Convicts game. I've gotten over that youthful indiscretion as the years have passed.

I have an affinity for UGA and Tech since I lived in Atlanta

Navy - Retired Navy
Hawaii - Stationed there for six years and they were a fun team to watch.
Not a popular pick with some but Liberty (Got my graduate degree and my kids received their undergraduate degree)

Oregon Ducks, lived there for 3 years and my wife's alma mater

1. Syracuse (grew up watching Csonka & Little)
2. Notre Dame (good Catholic family, makes Dad happy)
3. OSU (they beat the hated USC & OJ in the 67 Rose Bowl)
4. Alabama (sometimes you just have to sit back & enjoy watching a winner)
5. Oklahoma (hated Nebraska during their glory days & that was the best rivalry back then).

I tend to root for teams playing against teams I hate or the underdogs playing T25 teams.

I like to see teams do well that have loyal fans but have never won a title. Teams like Iowa, Wisconsin, A&M, Oregon, etc. And I always root for the service academies if they aren't playing us.

Syracuse by a longshot, then:

Texas - spent two great years in Austin for grad school

Since that time I root for anyone playing Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Always liked UCLA for some reason - now with the Big 10 nonsense that’s over.

Army / Navy / Air Force - when playing each other I root for whoever is having the worse season

I generally root against the SEC and Big 10 because of their never ending greed and desire to destroy all other conferences and have everything for themselves.

This is because I care about the welfare of children and I care about the environment.
