Who else do you root for?

After Cuse my order
NDSU
Northwestern
Army Navy ( Navy in their game)
App State
Cornell
Colgate

Before adopting Syracuse as my team, I used to root for Florida somewhat because of Tebow. Also embarrassed to admit that I was a ND fan when I was really young.

After going to the Dome, there’s no going back now. Orange for life. I don’t root for any other teams.

Alabama (wife). Since I live here, they forced me to choose and I don't like Auburn- for obvious reasons.

After Syracuse I root for…

1 - UCLA. Would love to see UCLA and Syracuse play a home and away series in both football and basketball. So Cal has a ton of Syracuse alumni.

2 - Colorado. Always an underdog.

Navy - Retired Navy
Hawaii - Stationed there for six years and they were a fun team to watch.
Not a popular pick with some but Liberty (Got my graduate degree and my kids received their undergraduate degree)

Liberty is a great university, we have several friends who graduated from there. Also it’s beautiful down in Lynchburg.

Married into lsu and have been connected to them since 2002. My basketball and her football won national titles in her hometown the year we met. Sports karma is huge. Incredibly fortunate! I pay way more attention to them than my wife. Our series with them was fantastic but dammit we shoulda won in Baton Rouge!

Also follow Delaware are a fallback since it’s where I’m from. When the top tier teams have me fed up, I’ll focus there a bit (at least they made March madness this year)

Besides Syracuse, it has changed as I grew older. Now, I hate how teams are changing conferences. I liked Norhwestern beat Nebraska.

I don’t root for anyone else. I hate some teams less, but it usually changes based on players, coaches, etc.

Michigan State. My oldest graduated in 2020, and I just dropped my third son off for his sophomore year.

It’s fun having a rooting interest in big time football and beating Michigan. East Lansing is a fun spot.

Army, grew up in Hudson Valley and my uncle had Army season tix at beautiful Michie Stadium, went alot with him. Homer Smith was Cadets coach, one of Dino's mentors!

Stanford, my grad school. I'm kind of shocked how low they are rated for these Big2 rumors. Since hiring Jim Harbaugh in 2007, they've been really strong in football, regularly beating Oregon and USC, often on the near edge of making the BCS playoffs, and having future NFL stars like Andrew Luck, Christian McCaffrey, Richard Sherman, and Zach Ertz. Stanford and Syracuse have never met in football oddly enough.

Also for some reason I seem to like watching WVU. Our games against them were generally the most competitive through the years, and they, like us, they had to battle it out with Penn State and Pitt. Don Nehlen and Coach Mac were good friends, and of course, Ben Schwartzwalder played there.

Usually when I watch a random game, I just pick up on which team I like the way they play or how they are coached, like NW today and definitely not Nebraska (after that 1983 game). I like GaTech the school, but am indifferent to their sports teams. I don't like VaTech or NC State or Oregon or Rutgers.

Wow. An 8 year callback.

In modern times, I root for those I place bets on.

My wife went to Michigan State; I watch every game so long as we're not playing at the same time.

I will watch any game with BC, UMASS, UCONN, UB, Rutgers, Temple and Pitt and root for them if the Orange aren't their opponent. And root against Penn State whoever they are playing. The couchburners get some sentment too, backyard brawl should be good next Saturday.

When certain teams are playing each other. I like to root for...

I don't necessarily "root" for other teams, but I used to really like watching Oregon when they were really up and down the field.
I do "root" for Clemson in the CF playoff, if that counts.
